Match #1
place #1: Iron-Man
place #2: Green Latern (Hal Jordan)
--Tough fight but Tony would have a problem figuring out what emotional energy is, much less how to combat it.

Match #2
place #1: Ms. Marvel
place #2: Captain Atom
--Ms. Marvel can absorb energy, Captain Atom IS energy. He would be her all-you-can-eat buffet.

Match #3
place #1: Captain America
place #2: Spider-Man
--What Cap lacks in strength or speed in this fight, he makes up for in combat ability and with his shield. Spider-sense is the key that determines this fight though.

Match #4
place #1: Blue Bettle (Jamie Reyes)
place #2: Jean Grey
--Giving this one to Blue Beetle, going off the assumption the scarab would be able to keep Jamie from being psychically controlled while also being to alien for Jean to mind-read.

Match #5
place #1: Cable
place #2: Wonder Woman
--At Cable's peak I think he could psychically hold Wonder Woman long enough to cheap-shot her.

Match #6
place #1: Hellboy
place #2: Psylocke
--My first inclination was Hellboy, but he doesn't have any real resistance against mental intrusion plus Psylocke is a trained ninja. All she has to do is get in close with her Psi-sword (or whatever it is now) and stun him with it.

Match #7
place #1: Hulk (Planet Hulk)
place #2: Vamirella
--Although Vampirella is immortal, PH Hulk is too enraged to be controlled. She can't turn him into a vampire (his system would overcome it) so it just comes down to how long it takes him to get his hands on her and rip her arms off.

Match #8
place #1: Dr. Strange
place #2: Thor
--Without prep time to assemble the appropriate artifacts and memorize the correct spells, I have to give this one to Thor.

Match #9
place #1: Flash (Barry Allen)
place #2: Dr. Fate
--I don't think Fate would be able to figure out how to beat the Flash before the Flash had punched him enough times to incapacitate him.

Match #10
place #1: Iceman
place #2: Superman
--Invulnerability + Strength + Heat Vision ftw

Match #11
place #1: Cyclops
place #2: Shazam
--No contest

Match #12
place #1: Firestorm
place #2: Sara Pezzini (Witchblade)
--My guess is that the Witchblade isn't organic metal (like Colossus' armor) and thus is transmutable. With that, Firestorm turns it into water.

Match #13
place #1: Black Bolt
place #2: Deadpool
--Since Black Bolt can create a force bubble to hold Wade in, Deadpool loses by being unable to get out of the bubble.

Match #14
place #1: Red Tornado
place #2: Power Girl
--Heat vision, game over.

Match #15
place #1: Zatanna
place #2: Raven
--Raven attacks Zatanna's mind before Zatanna can whip up a spell. Advantage, Raven.

Match #16
place #1: Spawn
place #2: Ghost Rider
--Spawn has conquered Hell, Ghost Rider is a spirit of Hell. Logically, Spawn should just be able to order Zarathos to stand down for the easy win.

But, lets not forget Black Bolt's powers though. - Superhuman strength, agility, stamina, and speed. - Destructive voice (the equivalent of an atomic bomb at full power) - Concussive blasts from hands - Force field generation

You forgot one, and it's a biggie:

The Scarab is alien tech. Its A.I. (right?), so not only is it now a human mind, but its also not organic.

This is from her wiki page:

quote:

Her telekinetic strength and skill are both of a supremely high power-level, capable of grasping objects in Earth orbit and manipulating hundreds of components in mid-air in complex patterns. She often uses her telekinesis to lift herself and others, giving her the ability of levitation and flight. She uses her telekinesis to create durable shields and energy blasts.

Her telekinesis would win this fight. All she would have to do is shield herself long enough to knock out the Scarab's host. After knocking out the Scarab's host all she would have to do is pull the machine apart.

Fair point. Gives me something to consider.

I still do not think it would be that easy for her though.

Knocking out the host is irrelevant.

Plus I'm assuming her first move would be to read his mind. The second that happens the Scarab takes over and blasts her before she knows what happened. I have never known Grey to crush someone into a block the moment she encounters a threat. Heck, I've never known her to do that while in combat.

What then?

Wasn't quoting you

But I'm pretty sure Black Bolts nuclear level sonic screams can deflect or shatter a bullet.

The scarab's goal is to protect the host. Why does it bother unless it NEEDS the host for power?

If the scarab has all that power and the life of the host is irrelevant, why go through the trouble of having a host in the first place?

Well, I got to get back to work. I'll check back in later.

But Jean has to defeat the scarab and Reyes, just keep that in mind.

I don't think that is much of a contest.

Supe's heat vision takes care of his constructs along with his strength.

Iceman can't freeze the air like he did against Wolverine and I doubt he could successfully encase Superman in ice and hold him there.

Jean Grey only has one power that would be effective against him since she isn't Pheonix, and that is Telekinesis

Jean Grey's mastery of her telekinetic abilities rivals Magneto's mastery of magnetism.

That's without Phoenix.
