That cat is a big piece of the puzzle and the fact that the door was left open that night.

Someone has repeatedly put that cat outside for some reason.

I also found it interesting that in the previews for E4. Box & Stone are having a serious conversation about whether or not Naz did this. Hell, Stone doesn't even think Box believes that he did it.

Other tidbits:
-Something about Crowe rubs me the wrong way.
-It would have been nice to see the Stepfather again.
-I'm curious what Freddy wants in return for "protection".
-I have a feeling that the other two cab owners will file for Grand Theft Auto against Naz.

Love this show but good god the DA is awful

Horrible actress and looks like a man. Really HBO? Couldn't find a better one?

Yeah this show is weird. LOVED the first one but have been very underwhelmed since. Episodes 2-3 moved at a snail's pace. We didn't really get any actual developments on the case in the past episode or two. Just different than I thought it would go after such a strong opener. Definitely will keep watching though.

No kidding. Every scene Stone is in, I think about his nasty feet. Then, next frame is one that includes his sandals or something regarding his condition.

And he could've worn socks over that Saran Wrap. No need for them to breath anymore.

I'll keep watching to see the resolution, but I'm pretty confident we've already seen by far the best episode

I think the show writers and runners have made a fatal flaw in the narrative of the show. The first episode is superb, some of the best tv I've seen in years. But the past two episodes have not focused on what people want to see...the murder case!

Making a murderer was a success and captivating because they largely always brought it back to the details of the murder and trying to find out what actually happened. You were constantly changing your mind if he actually did it or not. It was always present in your thoughts.

The Night Of has drifted further and further away from the actual case (by far the most compelling aspect of the show) and into criminal justice system's tedious procedurals mixed with a prison show. This is not what people want to see. I think, like most times now a days, the left wing writers are more interested in saying "See how screwed up the system is" instead of trying to make the show as captivating as it can be.

I'm still holding out hope that it gets back to more of a mystery/thriller, but I'm very, very skeptical at this point.

As for what happened tonight, I think the Gloria Allred fame whore lawyer has swindled the family and it will end up screwing them, then they'll go begging back to Turturro. Yes, I agree the excema thing is weird and unnecessarily focused upon. It's like they didn't have enough story for eight episodes so they had to throw all that in there to fill time. Who knows it could end up being some kind of huge plot point but I don't know.

Naz will get protection from Omar or be transferred to a safer prison. The cat means something, it's a big clue. The stuffed deer also is something, maybe a camera behind the eye or something. They've shown a closeup of those eyes three or four times, it's important.

Agree with everything you said. No one wants to watch a "slow" show about how slowly and unfairly the wheels of justice are turning for 7 episodes after such a strong opener.

Also I love John Turturro as much as the next guy, and after the trailer and first episode his stock was at an all time high. Over the past two however I've almost gotten annoyed with his character and feel like they are using him in the wrong capacity. Just my two cents

I think some of you want this to be True Detective S3 too bad. This mini series is based off of the BBC series "Criminal Justice". Of course they are going to point out the flaws of the US justice system. Furthermore, what else are you expecting as far as the investigation goes? Box,DA & the rest of the NYPD believes that they have the right guy in this case (How many times have they mentioned the fact that this is an "open and shut case")

How else are they supposed to us him?

They could start by not forcing this eczema thing down our throats every time he is on screen. It is just silly at this point.

I am fully expecting a "House" type revelation that somehow links his stinky feet to an important clue in the case that frees Naz.

Think it's going to be something symbolic where he gets the eczema cured, buys some real shoes, and starts acting like a real lawyer and shows his character develop and improve as a lawyer over the course of the show because he cares about the case so much or something. Just kind of a weird random thing to throw in there and to use this eczema thing so heavily. Not bailing on it yet but it's almost halfway over and it hasn't really gone anywhere since first episode.

So I guess the eczema and the asthma have to be tied into each other at some point I am assuming. Perhaps with the cat? I don't know.

I don't know how anyone can say this. We've development in how the prosecution is planning on presenting the case against Naz. We've also seen the battle between Naz & his family on who should represent him in trial. Along with the information from the stepdad. Again, I think someone of you were expecting a True Detective style of series. Which this clearly is not.
