The whole HR spilling the beans to Savitar about Iris' whereabouts was just stupid IMO. THE WHOLE POINT WAS FOR BARRY NOT TO KNOW WHERE IRIS WAS. Yet HR tells Barry/Savitar where she is when he asks. Like others have said, it wouldn't matter if he would have told present good Barry or future evil Barry since they share memories UNLESS
it was part of the plan to tell Barry incorrect info and for Savitar to kill an imposter Iris.
The problem is HRs actions after this happened doesn't really jive with that conclusion unless he is the only one who knows that it is an imposter Iris. All that said, the imposter Iris can't be HR bc HR was on Earth 1 when he told Barry and unless HR is faster than Savitar there is no way he got to E2 fast enough to switch places with Iris.
ETA: Unless HR got his hands on some Hologram tech and the HR on E1 was just a hologram while the real HR was on E2 the whole time.
All that said, I still think the most logical theory is that Barry decides not to create a time remnant in the future and beats Savitar another way. Which in turn would not make an evil Barry.

If the future Flash, goes emo, then goes Savitar, seems like he should have to kill Iris. BUT if that's the case then this timeline would be dead. I don't think they want to kill the timeline because they want to keep some continuity and baseline for their audience.
So time remnant Savitar, can only exist if he kills Iris (as shown by the future flash story). That can't happen so they are going to send him back into the speed force and keep this timeline intact.
Throwing it out there, we'll see what they come up with.

Emo flash beat savitar and is the future flash. Before he beat savitar he accidentally created him by making time remnants.
But now it seems savitar is breaking through the cycle by getting the speed force bazooka to power up his stone. So he's more powerful than ever in this timeline.

As far as the HR-Iris fake out theory goes, I have one idea of how he switches. After all the drama, HR eyes the piece of savitars armor that they've been holding onto. Earlier in the season, they mentioned that it tries to return to the armor to mend itself. I believe HR takes this and it guides them to savitars hiding place and makes the switch.

I wouldn't mind at all if HR did this. They brought in the face tech for a reason and he'd be able to acually do something for once. His bit is getting old, time for a new Wells.
