I don't think Adams wore a tank top in one scene

Always just jackets or shirts with sleeves, ruined the movie for me

I thought it was pretty solid. Not at all what I was expecting though.

If you watched Arrival, then you watched one of the best movies of 2016.

They took one of my favorite short stories and made it into a great movie.

The most overrated movie in recent memory.

Same here. I liked it a lot better than Midnight Special.

I really liked it. It really does make you have to think a little and some may need to go back and watch it again to catch something they may have missed.

I've heard everything from "best movie of the year" to "overrated" and "awful". Eye of the beholder, but for me it was one of the best movies I've watched in awhile.

It definitely one you need to watch again. Knowing the ending from the beginning is a great experience, seeing all the pieces fit together.

I even caught some things that I missed in my third watch.

My infant son had major cranial surgery last year. I saw Arrival in the theater and cried pretty much nonstop for two hours.

I thought it was an achingly beautiful film, but it sort of hit me at the right exact time in my life. An alien arrival film that's really about parental love and the difficulty of communication was sort of exactly the film I needed. It's one of my favorite films ever made, but for very personal reasons.

However, I do think this is the KIND of movie we always say we want Hollywood to make: it was a challenging, well-acted, high-concept, big budget original movie aimed primarily at adults. Even if you didn't like THIS movie, this is the sort of movie Hollywood should make more of. And adult audiences should support it for this reason. So we get more big budget, well-made films aimed at adults.

I didn't care for it, but maybe if somebody explains it to me I'd enjoy it a little.

My comment applies to Arrival and not The Arrival.
