And what rules are those? The books were once considered canon but Disney has come out and said that only Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels will be canon, aside from the movies

So let me get this straight. They were once relevant but now they aren't because fricking Disney decreed it? Okay.

And I don't know when Sci Fi was required to have actual theoretical science in it, like Interstellar, but space travel, alien worlds, etc. say Sci Fi to me. But really, who gives a shite? It's a masturbation argument.

Uh...yeah. Who owns Star Wars? Disney. Whatever Disney says about canon goes.

Episode VII is going to tell a different tale then what the books have told in the years after Return of the Jedi. That automatically makes them irrelevant.

Throwing out the EU books was a great idea. They can still use things from them but are not locked into them. They can use Thrawn or not use him. Can pick and choose. It is nuts that anyone wants this thing to be locked into the books going forward.

The books are almost all terrible and there are way way too many of them to give them relevance.

The only thing that matters is the films. That's it.

Anyone who thinks they should completely stick to those shitty books is a lunatic.

Pretty much.

Look bro, I read a crap ton of GI Joe and X-Men comics as a kid. It didn't ruin my day when I found out the movies would be different. Different mediums, different audiences, different story. It's OK. Life will go on.

I never in my head considered the Zahn books to be canon. The only things I've considered canon are things on film. That means the OT, the prequels, Clone Wars and Rebels. I'm gonna leave the Star Wars Christmas special off of that list.

Plants that block The Force?

Is that what people want?

The books have that covered.

I like the concept of a novice Sith not knowing how to make a lightsaber but Luke built one with just a year or two of on and off training so if this guy is having trouble making one, he's in for a monster arse kicking once he runs into Luke.

But maybe based on some of the rumors, that's going to be the end result: this dude causes havoc all throughout the movie until Luke takes him to (get your arse kicked) school near the end of the movie.

Maybe that was Luke. He has lost his mind.

Strangely, looking back at the trailer, the X-Wing pilot sort of kind of looks like Luke...?

The voiceover and the sequencing of noises in the trailer are perfect.
