I understand that as I get older (45) that my connection to the younger generations comedy and music is becoming an ever increasing disconnect, but Loren Michaels really needs to do the humane thing and pull the plug on Saturday Night Live. Its become an embarrisment to the former cast members.

Stopped being really funny after Chris Farley. Stopped being funny at all after Will Ferrell. I can't even sit through one skit

With the exception of weekend update I've actually really liked this season.

you obviously rarely watch. This cast is really good and they are light years better than the 1980's and late 2000's cast.

people have been saying that since 1980.

"it was better in my day.."

But they still have solid episodes. If you didn't find the Jim Carrey episode funny then you have no sense of humor.

the lesbian chick who does all the impressions is great. Her Ginsberg right now is pretty good. Her Bieber is great.

You're an embarrassment to English.

And it's Lorne.

the shaq and Barkley commentary had me cracking up as well.

Most of the skits fell flat so far (I just got to the end of update) but not every show is a winner. The Orioles game skit was funny too.

"Baltimore has really been on fire this week..."
"Last week the Orioles played a series against Toronto and those boys in blue put a beating on them."

"Sponsored by Kingsford Charcoal, throw a brick, start a fire"

It's a pretty sad state of affairs. I haven't tuned regularly in for about 6 years now, used to be must-watch-tv for me but now I just catch skits here and there online. Maybe it's because I'm older and the magic is gone, but it jsut doesnt seem as funny, and I believe the cast is make or break for any skit show. Some of the standouts I remember from the last season or two I watched were Samberg, Parnell, Hader, Forte, Armissen, Sudeikis, and Poehler. Most of these guys have gone on to feature in their own sitcoms or have had pretty solid film careers, but they seemed to have gone in a... weird direction once all their repertory players bailed for greener pastures.
