Does it make any sense at all for Erlich to still own 10%? He had 10% of the original Pied Piper because of the incubator contract. That should just be tied to the original company I would think. Richard is purchasing the algorithm from the original company with his equity. That should just be a clean cut. Erlich's 10% shouldn't just follow the tech regardless of who buys it.
It's probably just more of an excuse to keep the groups tied together than anything that actually makes sense.
