I really love this show and the characters. With that being said, do you think that the real life bleeding hearts will start to bring politics into the plot lines?

After 3 years of not doing it I don't think they will (unless I missed some politics in the past).

What has mike judge done in the past that makes you think he is a bleeding heart?

Mike Judge has done a pretty decent job of staying out of politics in his work (I think...don't crucify me if I am misremembering something). I would like to think that he'll continue down this path.

idiocracy is the closest to polictical that he ever got.

If you need a safe space from that then just leave this board.

I feel like the girl will come up in an interview where they are talking about the origin of Piper Chat. Dinesh will be putting a positive spin on it before Gilfoyle calls in and frustrates Dinesh into revealing the 'dog-face' story, embarrassing Dinesh on national TV/radio

I'm glad Mike Judge has stayed out of putting it in his work but his actors in SV are IRL bleeding hearts. Didn't TJ Miller beat up an Uber driver for saying he voted for Trump though?? I know that Thomas Middleditch (Richard) posts SJW crap on his instagram all the time so I stopped following him.

Yep. And you can add Kumail/Dinesh to that pot as well, even though he isn't as bad.

Great first episode. As everyone else has said, I can;t wait to see how they frick it all up. Completely forgot how little responsibility Big Head wants at all times

Papa Roach- Last Resort was playing in the Aventador when Russ sped away from the wrong school.

I'm pretty confident that the actors wouldn't really have a say in the show's political message if Judge didn't want to go down that path. Of course I could be wrong, but if the actors had that much pull then every single show and movie would reek of liberal nutjobs.

Yeah, I wasn't worried about Mike Judge. I was referencing TJ Miller's little debacle and irl Dinesh and irl Richard's CONSTANT political commentary.

irl Dinesh posted/tweeted every single day through November and December about how he woke up soooo frightened that he would inexplicably be deported.

Same here, which is why I stopped following their social media accounts .

Fun fact--Thomas Middleditch's wife is from Laffy and went to LSU. Unfortunately I think she's a libtard though or at least has been since moving to Cali because he was bragging about her attending the Women's March and some other abortion march.

No one gives a shite about their politics, so it is so ridiculous when they spout them off. We just want to be entertained by people who can do things we can't. Sports, music, theater and other art forms. Keep your opinions to yourself.

They can easily tie politics in if they wanted to.

Richard's "new internet" could be opposed by the FCC, lobbyists, telecom corps, etc.

Are you infusing any political events into this season? Has Trump had any effect on the story you're telling?

No, we were done writing by that point and no one saw that coming. [Laughs.] We were actually shooting the seventh or eighth episode when that happened and had written the rest. Who knows, maybe next season that will make its way in. It will be interesting to see what happens. There's this sort of libertarian element of Silicon Valley so I don't know. But I'm sure between now and when we're writing something will probably happen that will make its way in, if it hasn't already. We haven't really thought about next season at all yet because we always put everything we got into the current season and worry about the rest later.

Seems to me that he has no desire to involve politics and is just giving this liberal vag writer some lip service. They do a good job of keeping it pretty neutral. The actors are very liberal and Dinesh made up some BS about Trump supporters harassing him but it's whatever. The show is really good.
