Game of Thrones

I watched two full seasons and could never get hooked. Feels like the whole thing is about shock value and it just bores me. The characters don't exist long enough to grow to like them, and there are 14 million subplots that just blend together into a jumbled mess.

100 percent. I often felt like I should be thinking it was better than I did due to the insane praise. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the show and it had some really good moments but there were very few points in the show where I truly felt a strong desire to get to the next episode which for me is the essence of truly enjoyable TV.

For one episode I will go with ozymandias (spelling) from breaking bad. Again it was an good episode but I've always said too much was crammed into that one episode which kind of detracted from some of the events individually and making them a little less effective than they would've been had they been the sole focus of an episode.

I'm now halfway through Season 3. Same here. I like it as far as something good to watch, but it's rarely compelling - as in, I'm not staying up late to squeeze in that next episode or last half like I've done with other shows that are addictive. I just watch it when there's no better episode of another series or new movie.

It's weird because it's better overall than a lot of shows that are somehow more addictive, like certain seasons of SOA or House of Cards.

Also, Boardwalk Empire - liked but not addicted or compelling. May give that another shot as I don't even remember where I left off.
