Everyone is entitled to like or dislike whatever they want. What is a widely well liked show that you never got into?

For the sake of this thread let's keep shows like Big Bang Theory out of this thread, we get it, you do/don't like mindless time waster shows....

The two I'll throw out are:

Orange is the New Black: it was okay but I don't like Piper and I REALLY hate Alex (chick from That 70's Show). Honestly I don't think I've disliked a character more ever, so I gave up on it.

Breaking Bad: I know I'll get shite for this but it just didn't do it for me. I didn't dislike the show, but it's not anywhere near my greatest of all time list like it is with most people. I honestly thought a lot of the action scenes were overreacted and many of the characters were cartoonish and not believable. Hank/Walt/Jesse were full of depth and were human, neither all good or all bad, most of the other characters were very one dimensional, especially the villains

That's a good one for me too, I blame it on me watching after it had aired and trying to binge it. There's too much filler to binge that show, gets so boring

Breaking Bad

Good show, great writing, but I hated all the characters, and was rooting for them to all die in a meth lab explosion. Flynn too, I'm sorry, but he was insufferable. Even Saul became whiny towards the end. And don't get me started on Marie....

Battlestar Galactica. It was less driven by sci-fi and was more of a soap opera. I didn't hate it, but it didn't do it for me. I made it through 3 seasons and gave up.

TV shows are really subjective. There aren't many shows that have something for everyone.

Thats definitely fair and it is a popular show but not in all circles. It is geared towards women, obviously, and considered a "chick" show. I thought seasons 1 and 2 were ok - good but really disliked season 3. I don't expect much going forward especially considering what happened with Weeds.

With Breaking Bad, I think it is hard for people to tune in late and be objective given the extreme hype and popularity surrounding the show, especially going into the final two seasons. It was so talked about as being great/GOAT, it is tough for something to live up to those expectations. Luckily I started from the beginning so I didn't have to deal with that and I think its the best show I've seen.

I strongly disagree. I thought the cast and characters were excellent, more real and believable than anything else (most of the cast anyways). Especially considering the show moved in a singular direction for 5 long seasons. Season 1 of Bloodline, Fargo, True Detective, The Returned (french) were all dramatically excellent with tight story telling but it would never last like BB did for 5 seasons. ETA: not that those shows intend on going for 5 seasons, just sayin.

Agreed.
