I think Dane Cook (minus the joke stealing) is underrated among the male demographic. He's not as bad as many people make him out to be. I'm not saying he's one of my favorite comedians, but he's funny nonetheless.

I think alot of the guys who've risen up through Last Comic Standing (Alonzo Bodden, John Heffron) are pretty overrated.

And I think a better thread title would have been acclaimed comedians that you personally don't find funny. And for that, I'd probably have to go with Bo Burnham, George Carlin, Andy Kaufman, and The Lonely Island. I don't really find any of their stuff that funny.

Agreed. That "Here's your sign" douchebag isn't funny either.

Dane Cook sucks. Really, really sucks.

Conan isn't funny, but he's better than Leno was.

I never found the Wayans Brothers all that funny. There were a few jokes in Scary Movie that was pretty good.

And did someone say they never found George Carlin funny?

I guess there is no accounting for taste.

we have exact opposite taste in comedy. I think Dane Cook is the antichrist. He doesn't even sniff "funny" to me. And George Carlin, Andy Kaufman, and The Lonely Island all crack me up in that order of preference. Damn though, I can't believe you like Dane Cook, but I guess to each his own.

he has moments where he's funny, but alot of times he doesn't know when to quit with the same joke

this is a prime example:

it starts off good, but as usually dane hardly ever realizes when the joke gets old

as for the other stuff, i really don't think my comedy tastes are that abnormal. my top five comedians are probably seinfeld, galifianakis, cross, swardson, and hedberg.

I like those 5. Zachy G and Mitch are my two favorite ever I think.

I'm partial to Louis C.K., Brian Reagan and Jim Gaffigan. I like Galifianakis's stand up but I honestly think he's a better actor; just check out his live DVD and his interview with Michael Cera.

Dave Chappelle

Dude was in a cult classic, and then completed 33 episodes of a show before going awol. Don't get me wrong, dude has had his share of funny moments...

but the pedestal he is put upon is undeserved, imo.

Sketch comedy shows are largely written by numerous writers, so the show has very little to do with how funny Chappelle is as a comedian.

Killin' Them Softy is a great example of how good is stand up is. Watch the Youtube video of his unplanned performance at Kojo comedy club in London to see how well he improvises. If anything, he's an underrated comedian.

all great choices except for Swardson...my god does his stand up suck something fierce.

the 'farting ghost'? Are you kidding me? On his album he has like three straight bits that end in a fart/poop joke...terrible.

the farting ghost was his worst joke...and he admitted that that joke sucked. alot of his jokes do involve toilet humor, but its pretty creative toilet humor, not just cheap laughs. if you havn't heard his bits on cats, old people, or suicide, i would check those out. if you have heard those 3 bits and you weren't impressed, then i guess he isn't for you. im just saying, i wouldn't judge him based on the ghost joke, because that whole bit sucked.

Lenny Bruce.

I've gotten to the point that "funny comedian" has become an oxymoron. They're either too vulgar or too political.
