It has actually been discussed... She died in the explosion from the web series (a year prior to the first episode of Reborn)... I just really didn't want to have spoilers in this thread

I find it hard to believe that Claire could be killed like that. I was thinking she had a tree branch shoved into her head and nobody removed it

P.S: and while all of this is "spoiler'ish" - it's not really, her death has been teased at since the very first teaser trailer when HRG is holding her necklace instead of it being on her, and the bomb smoke being in the background.
Her death and the event that did it is going to be the catalyst for the first season back... so yeah.

Season 1 was spectacular until the finale which was meh.

-Clair Bennett showed herself to the world

-People get afraid of "specials" and start keeping tabs of them, treating them as half class citizens, etc.

-Every "special" gets a special ID, so everyone knows they have them - hard for them to get jobs, live in society, etc.
-Dark'ish company is willing to hire "specials" with the promise of "a better future"
-Protest begin throughout the U.S, with 1 big event happening in Odessa TX - Clair Bennett and a few of the old Heroes people are at said event, including the character from the YT miniseries - while the main character's brother is heading to the event, a nuke goes off - everyone is presumed dead
-There is a group of "resistant fighters" who post videos online saying to fight the oppression, tell the brother to find Noah Bennett, he is the key to stopping everything, they also show him his sister is in a cell somewhere, still alive - are ambushed, subdued and taken away by the company "for a better future" from earlier
-Miniseries ends with the brother finding Noah Bennett at a car sales place - and Mohinder presumed to be the mastermind behind the nuke attack
