I guess I'll give it a few more episodes.

Just watched the episode that popped up on my dvr, did I miss a bunch of episodes or did they take like two months off? At the end of the episode, they said only one more episode to the finale. So they took two months off to pop back up with two episodes? This is why NBC is fricking stupid and this show sucks.

They took like 6 weeks off. I forgot it was starting back. Guess I will have to check On Demand for it.

It's kinda like NBC was tired of the fans wanting it back, so they decided to screw it up so bad that no one will ever want it back again.

I had already successfully blocked out the episodes I watched and forgot this was a thing.

I should do the same. I was hoping they figured it out this time around.

Worse than the final season of the original run.* I only made it through about 6 or 7 episodes

*I may put too much stock in Claire making out with the chick from Californication

The last few episodes before the break were pretty good, but the first 5 or 6 were difficult to get through. They did not recapture the magic of the first season, that's for sure. Of course, as soon as it started getting better, they took like a six week break so people forgot all about it.

what did they do in the first season that made it so special? I remember loving it like no other show and then the second season was still pretty enjoyable.

I feel like they set up the overall plot from the start, had interesting characters that were figuring out their powers and built a story around that. Why can't they seem to hit anywhere near those marks again?

I think what they did that grabbed everyone in that 1st season was that they showed several different interesting storylines about these people that were just realizing they had powers, and then slowly intertwined the separate storylines and brought them into a larger overarching storyline. The key was that the individual storylines were interesting enough to cause the audience to become invested in the characters.

That is where they went wrong with this season. The separate storylines in the early part of this season just weren't good enough to draw the audience in, and cause us to become invested in the characters. As a matter of a fact, I hated several of the new characters like Levi and his wife, the Mexican guy and his brother (whose names I still don't know), Katana Girl and her goofy sidekick, and I even didn't care much for Tommy (who is supposedly one of the keys to the main plotline). It just seemed forced and a little awkward.

But the last few episodes before they took the out of nowhere break actually got pretty decent, and I started to actually get invested in the characters. Why they decided to take a long arse break out of nowhere when it was finally getting interesting is beyond me. But this last episode was pretty good. I have a feeling that the next two will be pretty decent also if they can wrap up a huge apocalyptic storyline in two episodes (which is nowhere near a given that they can do it). But I'll watch the last two to see if they can since I've made it this far.

Well...the season's over now and it was as disappointing as the later seasons of the first run. Not as bad as the last couple seasons but as disappointing. Now I am curious if they will bother trying again with how they left off because apparently their dad is a dick and is unstoppable, where have we heard that before?

It's like they didn't listen to anything people wanted.

What a giant waste of time.

I had high hopes for the series this year. I was a huge fan of the original first season, but this season really was pretty disappointing. I found myself actually thankful this season was only 13 episodes. Just too many uninteresting characters, that no one cared about, that almost served no purpose in the story. I can't imagine them renewing this for another season.

It's been cancelled. about 3-4 weeks ago.

I honestly liked it. It was way better than the shite circus tent seasons of 4-5

I have no beef with the finale of this show because the heroes did what they were supposed to do.

They saved the world.

Not stop a virus, or fighting evil carnies, but saved the world.
