I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been mentioned on this board at all that the villains in the last two MCU movies (including one who is supposed to be the big bad of this era) are insane, irredeemable assholes, both played by black men.

Me and my son both loved it. I think the Gaurdians wins the title of the most consistent of the individual marvel series. Very tight trilogy.

Im surprised the social justice crowd isn't pissed off about it. Seems like they'd be throwing a fit.

Also, fans are not stupid, they appreciate a well-acted villain and a black actor getting a villain role is an opportunity to show off acting chops.

Not to mention that in both movies, the main heroes were white-bread Paul Rudd and white evangelist Chris Pratt

Frequently "put in his place" by his left-wing daughter ...

Oh yeah, a regular Billy Graham for sure.

And then his daughter got fricking pwned while he saved the day.

You may want to read more on Pratt.

I know it may not fit into your belief that everything involved with Disney is woke, even though these last two MCU movies are quite the opposite.

There was some discussion about Kang the Conqueror being black, since he's supposed to be a descendant of Reed and Sue Richards. Turns out they never really specify how far of a descendant he is, so whatevs. It's plausible. I still don't like race swaps but I'm not going to pretend this is some major, beloved character with a huge following of people who are going to be put off by this casting.

With High Evolutionary, isn't he an alien? Not sure it's possible to race swap an alien, and again I don't think this was some beloved character people have an image of ingrained in their minds. The actor did a fantastic job. To me, I'll picture him when I think of High Evolutionary.

Easily the best (with Spider-Man No Way Home) movie since End Game.

Absolutely agree. There is definitely debate in my family about whether this or No Way Home is better.

I loved the Rocket backstory, and I loved the way they wrapped the trilogy up. With all the characters going their separate ways, that frees Marvel up not to have to explain much if one of them doesn't pop up in future films.

While he’s no Billy Graham, Pratt has shared gospel more than a couple of times

His teen choice awards or MTV award, whatever was a blatant evangelical speech.

I thought for sure Gamora was going to save quill at the end. Also I’m not sure why they didn’t have Adam avenge his mom. I assume both were thought of but it didn’t play right in the screening.

Solid, but not spectacular.

More of a Marvel movie than a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, if that makes sense.

Could have used a little trimming, but it did well with the main beats. The parts that were supposed to hit in the feels, hit.

Was happy that the expected resolution left over from Endgame didn't happen as expected.

There's a midcredit scene, and an end credit scene.

I would agree that it's definitely at the top of the post Endgame offerings (TV and film)

There was definitely an end credits scene at my showing. Nothing spectacular, just Pete and the person he sees at the end eating breakfast together and chatting.

In my opinion, this guy was head and shoulders better than Jonathan Majors turn as Kang.

My main complaint in the plot. The evolutionary being directly responsible for his moms death was the best motivation or have him turn and fight with the guardians. The way they got there was more convoluted than it needed to be.

This was part of the review in The NY Times:

“With Gamora gone, Peter (Chris Pratt), a.k.a. Star-Lord, is still grieving, unaware of the fact that somehow Gamora — or, rather, a variant — is alive, sans her memories of him and the Guardians. When, a few minutes into the film, Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) becomes victim to a deadly attack, the team is reunited with a hostile, partially amnesiac Gamora, who is reluctantly dragged into their plot to save him.”

What the actual frick?!? Seriously, these idiots get paid to spout this inane bullshite? I mean, this moron has zero clue about this movie or any of the others leading up to it. Was he drunk and passed out when watching Endgame, and now he’s trying to fake it? It’s unbelievable to me.

It's like what he's saying is technically correct, but what a terrible synopsis.

And he gives away like half the plot too!
