That is how I took it as well, but Myth says they were literal magnets in her tea.

You didn't think they were real magnets. It was a physical magnet or device that she swallowed in the tea.

Even microchips would pass through waste at some point and this is a LONG time since she drank the tea.

Episode 18 comments Bloodline.

I'm glad we are getting back involved in the other side again.

a Guy in the bar that is the story she came up with. This is the same girl who was in charge of the shape shifters and a guy in the bar was the story she told her mother She couldn't come up with a better lie than that?

These people are pretty knowledgable, to start this episode is the best of the 3 let's see how it plays out? I kinda remember this one pretty solid episode if I remember correctly. *

The quick growing baby reminds me of a much earlier episode in fringe thing some of the same science is involved?

Fauxlivia going special ops

Pretty cool comment of child birth, and fauxlivia almost dining. That was a pretty cool episode, one of the best of the season. The middle was ok but the ending was pretty cool.

Season 03X19
Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

That is the only noise more annoying than Bellivia. I can barely make it through the "last week on Fringe".

I can't remember the episode, but I wonder if Belly is TRYING to stay in Olivia. Maybe he likes being a chick.

Not exactly sure how or why they thought Bell could just vacate at will. If it was that easy, he could just hop around at will.

Shouldn't they be able to just put the same type of magnets / microchips in another host and ring that bell?

If there is a problem with the mind, then there is only one solution!

Ha! Forgot this was the animated episode.

So Peter couldn't recognize the differences between Fauxlivia and Olivia but he instantly can tell that Mindscape Olivia isn't real. Ok.

Interesting episode that required plenty of suspension of disbelief but we got......

Still don't quite understand the mechanics behind the magnets. If they worked the first time, not sure why they couldn't use the same process that Bell used on Olivia. Heck, in theory, he should be able to bounce from person to person using that technique.

Season 03X20

Oh snap! It's on!

Dang memory! Can the machine be fully operational in the Prime Universe? Didn't the Fauxverse people steal a piece? Didn't Peter rip out the guts of the head exploding device?

Still don't buy Walternate's alternate blood machine. If the machine is primed for only Peter then his offspring wouldn't be able to work the machine. Otherwise, shouldn't Walter be able to use the machine? Adds way too many variables for offspring to be able to activate the machine. Maybe someone with very similar DNA could do it too. Nope. It is all or nothing. They were technologically advanced enough to make the machine so I don't believe they would have screwed up with the DNA recognition software.

So jumping no longer requires equal mass, correctly positioned sensors or anything other than 1 little flashlight? At least she didn't actually use it. We wouldn't have been able to explain how that worked with the previously held rules for interdimensional travel.

The return of Sam....

Nice setup episode. Can't wait for the finale, but that will bring the Peterless Time which some of you guys didn't like very much.

Season 03X21
The Last Sam Weis

Who are these moronic people in movies and TV who always want to go take a look at the destructive unexplainable phenomena? WHILE IT IS STILL HAPPENING! Lightning bolts shooting all around so the smart thing to do is get out of the car and wander off on foot.

Knucklehead Dad would tell everyone to split up and search the Haunted House on their own because they can search the house faster that way.

Good setup for the finale. I forgot about that time shift at the end. Didn't have much to say about this one. Too busy watching it.

Thought it would be easier to spot the observer in this one with all hell breaking loose, but it was just about impossible to spot.....unless you use this site.

Season 03X22
The Day We Died

Different color opening but since we are in the future, shouldn't the opening score be futuristic with futuristic graphics? Lazy or I guess the budget might have been getting tight because the ratings weren't great.

Yikes! That half body being carted out was a tad graphic.

Astrid needs to go back in time to find a better hairstyle. Speaking of hairstyles....

I do not remember this episode at all. Good thing about binge watching a show. The brain doesn't retain everything.

I'm not sure if that future isn't better if they lost Detroit.

I'm confused to how this timeline was set up. When did Walternate hop over? If that universe was set up by Peter getting into The Machine, when did Walternate come over?

Pretty naive of Peter to think an apology would suffice for Walternate. Sure Walternate started the device but at the end of the day, Walter started the dominos falling.

I was not ready for that.

Heck, I've seen the episode before and still wasn't prepared for that. Only one other moment is more shocking.

Did Olivia really want a Tribal Council Funeral?

Bye bye Peter.

That was an odd acting job for Brad Dourif. One small scene and done.

So we get next week off. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL ALL BE CAUGHT UP BY THEN!

OP updated.

Keep in mind that there are no new episodes this week, as it's the end of S3 and we always take a week off in between seasons.

(Myth and ctf, we can change that if ya'll want to...let me know...I'm cool with not skipping a week and just keep on moving..)

don't think it is every fully explained,

I missed that.

we are just supposed to accept it, but my best guess is that the machine didn't cause it to happen instantaneously maybe it happened over time, or maybe Walternate found a way to quick pass over IDK.

I must go, I'm caught up this week so I can chat chat chat away. My own reviews of these episodes will come by Wednesday.

It is annoying and there is no real reason for her to screech like that. Heck, Nimoy doesn't sound like that. She is trying to make her voice sound old and more like Nimoy but she doesn't have his vocal chords. There was no point to her doing that when she was already doing his mannerisms.

I agree it's just the way you are talking about it makes me feel like you make to big of a deal about it. You said it ruined stuff for you, I thought it was bad and unnecessary but it didn't ruin things for me.

anyway

was anyone else struck by the fact that Peter didn't know where ehe was than a day later it is like he was living his life in the future forever, even though it didn't look like he aged a day?

Pretty sure they grayed up his hair some.

There did appear to be some initial confusion by Peter after the jump but that could have been his injury and bombs going off everywhere.

I didn't say the episodes were bad because of the voice. I said I hated the voice. Which I do.

And I don't see any arguments that the voice was a compelling and interesting part of the episodes.

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

Poor Peter just wants some arse and his girlfriend is inhabited by some old pervy doctor.

Man, Bellivia is horrible. I know I/we keep saying that, but it bears repeating IMO.

I don't get why they don't just ring a bell to flip her back to Olivia and let Bell die (if he won't leave and they can't get him out). I thought the whole point was that if his consciousness was at the forefront, then Liv's was in the background and if it stayed like that for too long, she would be lost and Bell would be there. Why isn't the reverse true? And they know that bell dongs at a certain frequency are what causes it, so why not just do that?

Inception....here we go.

So this was straight up stolen from Inception, right? I mean, this is almost exactly what happens in the movie.

Broyles on LSD is fricking hilarious.

Kinda weird episode, but cool concept that they went into her subconscious to find her and retrieve her. I remembered the episode being way more animated than this ended up being. But still a cool episode though.

6:02 AM EST

Not much to say about this episode but I love how it's amping up.

Sam Weiss...I guess Liv is gonna randomly find him..

Yet another time when Liv is gonna escape Liberty Island?........ah, nope. She got caught. At least they finally upped their security a little.

I completely forgot about Peter touching the machine and it doing that to him.

Nice scene with Walter praying...another thing that can't be said enough: John Noble is fricking outstanding.

So Sam finds Liv...okay. And he's basically just a deus ex machina. Meh.

Not crazy about this episode, but still like where things are heading..

The Last Sam Weiss

Hey, idiot...there is lightning everywhere and striking everything. At the very least, stay in your car. But beyond that, get the frick out of there. Jesus..

This episode is all over the place.

So Peter is in the hospital and pulls out all of his nodes and things, and not a single nurse or hospital staff person is alerted? And he's walking around clearly an "escaped" patient. Is he a ghost? Okay, no...people can see him, but they don't do anything about it? This is weird.

Pretty awesome demonstration with Walter and the magnets.

I love how Olivia is straight up GRILLING Walter on some ancient First Men shite like he's supposed to know.

So now Liv can control the machine? Man, this feels like shoddy writing. I know cortexiphan and all that, but this whole HUGE deal about Peter and the machine and it only reacting to him and blah, blah, blah...but now Olivia can literally control it with her mind? She's the crowbar? GTFO.

The Day We Died

So we're 15 years into the future. Okay.

Black and white intro...that was different.

I love how Astrid is a fringe agent now, but she's still the peon-like one that has to read/dig through all the files that come in.

I'm guessing Walter had a stroke?

So the altverse was destroyed, but Walternate peaced the frick out in time and lives here. !5 years seems like a pretty long time to exact some revenge..

Liv and Peter want to have kids now, but aren't they like 45+? IIRC, they are around 30-32 in the regular timeline, so if this is 15 years later, it's getting a little late for her to have her first kid.

I know Walternate is Peter's father, but why wouldn't Peter immediately try to kill him when he walked in? The dude is literally trying to destroy your ENTIRE UNIVERSE. Kill him. You'd at least have found out he was a hologram a lot sooner.

Walternate with the hologram boom was awesome. And then he cold bloodedly merks Liv in the head. I remember that.

Jean (Gene?) shoutout!!

So Walter sent them back to the Paleozoic? What the frick? I don't like this as a finale at all, but I did like the ending...just not the "Peter never existed" part. Meh. Oh well. I do remember liking the two universes working together parts though.

All in all, weak finale, and a good bit of bad/weird writing to end the season. But I am loving the show even more than I did before though.

Thank you. I was damn near yelling this at my TV.

Yeah, that seemed a little weird:

"Hi, Peter.."
"You're not the real Olivia."
:cue little girl:

It's not even like something tipped him off either...he just immediately knew it.
quote:

Dang memory! Can the machine be fully operational in the Prime Universe? Didn't the Fauxverse people steal a piece? Didn't Peter rip out the guts of the head exploding device?

That's what I've said before...how are there two pieces of everything when originally there was only supposed to be one machine?

Yup. Good point on Walternate being able to use it if Peter's son could. But Liv controlling it sort of pisses me off.

Awesome. I'm going through all the episodes we've watched so far to see where he was. That's a cool site. And it's crazy to see how far we've come already. Seems like not too long ago when we were watching S1, but it was like 5 months ago.

Was Joshua Jackson filming a movie or something around this time? I'm trying to remember how long he was off the show for, but at least it will go by quicker than before since we are doing three a week. IIRC, he was gone for less than half a season, maybe even only a few (4 or 5?) episodes.

I don't remember much about S4.

They aged him. Actually, I thought they did a pretty good job of aging him and Anna Torv. I bought that it was ~15 years or so later.

And I'm not sure if Peter just jumped into consciousness 15 years later or what...but he did seem to settle into it pretty quickly though.
quote:

I didn't say the episodes were bad because of the voice. I said I hated the voice. Which I do.

I'm with you on that. It was just out of place and felt like she was doing a Leonard Nimoy impression that basically sounded nothing like him. But I get why they did it though, and I don'y hate the effort as much as the necessity of it I guess. At first I was like okay cool, she's Bell, and then after about five seconds of it, it was like "Is this gonna keep happening?"

As much as I hated Bellivia, it didn't make me hate the episodes or the show or whatever.
