1) zatana over firestorm
2) shazam over hellboy
3) ww over BB
4) ghost rider over hulk
5) superman over power girl (is this a coin flip? aren't they identical in their powers?)
6) flash over spiderman (no contest)
7) ms marvel over green lantern (bad matchup for GL)
8) thor over jean grey (his resistance to her telepathy should be adequate for him to prevail)

So basically after all of this, it turns out exactly like everyone expected.

The ring can do other things besides make constructs. For this match up, an interesting one is Energy Absorption. Others are Mind Tampering, Invisibility, Astral Travel and Electromagnetic Force Manipulation.
It can split an atom. Hal could use his constructs to create weapons which do not require the construct to come into contact with Ms. Marvel, such as sonic cannons and lifting boulders or the ground itself to throw at her, He can super heat the air around her, etc.
Just saying he's constructs don't have to come into physical contact with her. There are ways around this and he's used them in the past (see color yellow).

right, but assuming batman didn't get him a dossier he's going to be behind the eight ball before he figures out she can absorb anything the ring directly throws at her.

I think he would realize immediately after he throws a construct at her and it just gets absorbed. Pretty obvious. He then wouldn't make that mistake. GL would definitely be an under dog but could pull it off with Murray's strategy. The ring also advises him in battle. It's not just a blaster

This is true. I wonder if she would only absorb the energy of the construct itself or does construct contact allow her to absorb/drain the energy stored in the ring?
This could make a huge difference. If only the construct, then she absorbs a fraction of the rings energy. If the ring itself, then bye bye Hal.

I'm not sure ghost rider can be simply beaten senseless or ripped limb from limb but I don't think his chain can do anything to the hulk and my guess is his penance stare would only work when some fragment of the hulk's humanity is there to torment. Assuming the planet hulk version has been separated from bruce banner I don't think he's vulnerable to the GR... and while the GR is one of the strongest characters in the comics the planet hulk is probably the strongest.

I think, and this isn't due to Pete's role, if we would stick to established guidelines it wouldn't. I mean we tried, but Superman always has a trump outside of Kryptonite and since no one knows they are fighting Superman, no one has Kryptonite. And Superman has caught every break. Dr. Strange beats him. Shazam might be him. Iceman maybe SHOULD have beat him (unless we're back on sliding power scales).
I think more characters have slipped by on easy breaks, or come up against massive walls.
Lantern has clawed his way through, same for Ms. Marvel and Hellboy. Plenty of guys had had to fight, but yeah some just get cakewalks.
