This. Thus it's energy, thus Ms. Marvel gets another win thanks to luck-of-the-draw giving her a buffet instead of a beating.

Maybe she's really Longshot in drag?

Does anyone remember if GL has faced Parasite or a similar energy-drainer?

Ring energy is pretty unique - I could see it being immune to simple energy drains.

If not, though, its a bad matchup for Green Lantern.

She has to be in physical contact with the energy to drain it I think.

As long as GL doesn't make constructs and keeps the fight hand 2 hand, he might be able to pull it out.

I'm still picking Ms. Marvel though.

I think it's inevitable that she eventually come into contact with the energy, especially if she gets in close to duke it out with him. One good smack on his personal shield and he's a pile of broken bones.

Round III

Match #1 - no idea. Someone sway me.

place #1: Firestorm
place #2: Zatana

Match #2 - straightforward IMO

place #1: Shazam
place #2: Hellboy

Match #3 - Lasso = win

place #1: Wonder Woman
place #2: Black Bolt

Match #4 - pretty straightforward IMO

place #1: Hulk (Planet Hulk)
place #2: Ghost Rider

Match #5 - Powergirl can just carry kryptonite. Almost equal in power. Very good matchup. Can be swayed.

place #1: Superman
place #2: Power Girl

Match #6 - This is unfair . Flash has a good shot at winning the whole tourney. Spidey dies.

place #1: Spider-Man
place #2: Flash (Barry Allen)

Match #7 - Ms. Marvel absorbs rings energy and smokes Hal.

place #1: Ms. Marvel
place #2: Green Latern (Hal Jordan)

Match #8 - assuming Jean isn't Phoenix level

place #1: Jean Grey
place #2: Thor

Can't Hal just use his constructs to grab, launch, throw, etc.. other objects to beat her?

I'm not sold on Ms Marvel beating GL yet.

I guess, but that doesn't seem like a winning strategy. She can fly.

As opposed to Shazam, Power Girl, Hulk, Superman, WW, etc.? There are few heroes with major weaknesses left.

Ms. Marvel is actually an awesome character because she actually does have limits unlike Superman/Shazam.

She would absorb every one. Theoretically.

I just want to go on record and say I do not like the boards decision on Deadpool.

If there is no time to prepare then Superman wins the whole thing.

I love Deadpool, but he didn't match up well. Black Bolt can generate energy shields and his voice has the force of a nuclear explosion. Regeneration only goes so far.

agree with this. Thor is a bad match-up for Jean Grey because he has some resistance to her telepathic powers and his combination of other abilities.

Doesn't Black Bolt become very vulnerable on that attack though? It would seem that something like that would take him out of the fight since it was an all or nothing. Deadpool would actually survive that and be able to attack after even if it takes awhile.

quote:

Black Bolt is capable of channeling all available energy into one devastating punch called his Master Blow, which renders him extremely vulnerable subsequently.

I don't read many comics. I just love comic book heroes but don't get that into them. Hell I haven't heard of half these people before this thread.

Like what the hell is a Planet Hulk? Did he create Planet Fitness?

He absolutely can, but she is pretty strong, tough and nimble. She would be able to dodge or shrug off anything he could throw. Eventually she would get close enough to absorb his energy shield, it would just be a matter of time.

I meant she would throw solid objects like boulders and shite.

Hal constructs a huge gattling gun, loads it with solid objects(metal, rocks, etc..) and unleashes a barrage at her and then while focused on dodging that, he constructs the boxing glove to come at her from her blind spot.

She's not absorbing it because she didn't even have time to see it.
