Same, I expect to see Fring at some point. How long can this show run before it interferes with Breaking Bad?

Mike was not fooled by the sound, he was thinking Naco was trying to get back at him for the stick. I think the character's calculus was dark, slow moving car coming by his granddaughter's home after he stuck it to a drug dealer in league with Tuco. His relief was it was just a paper guy. His daughter-in-law is bat crazy.

What if Nacho wants up and comer and drug competitor Gus Fring dead?

And when Mike goes to do that, Gus counters with an even better and more stable offer?

Gus was already doing this in New Mexico for almost 20 years. "Up and Comer" lol

I watched the scene many times. NOTHING makes me believe that Mike believed that the noises he heard were gunshots. The slow speed of the car, time of night, and unknown noise surely spooked him to reach for his pistol, but it was not because he mistook that unknown repetitive thud sound for gunshots. Just one man's opinion.

I guess the one bit of poetic license we must give the writers is the age of Mike's granddaughter.

She's about four when his DIL moves to ABQ. This is, at the least, about four years before Walter White's fiftieth birthday party, which sets off the events of BB.

Heisenberg's exile in New Hampshire lasted a few months. Mike's storyline wrapped up before that. So let's add another year and a half.

Mike's granddaughter would have been close to 12 on the day the DEA came for him and he had to leave her on the park swing.

Instead, she's the exact same age on that day as she was over five years earlier when her mother first brought her to ABQ.

Funny, such a big plot hole in a show so tightly written.

The last scene got my tinkle maker numb

Mike is a top 5 character in tv history for me. I could see him slowly taking over as the main character as they introduce the NM/Mexico drug trade and Gus/Tuco. Sal storyline would just be a backseat, and it would be badass.

Throw in some uncle Tio and shite will hit the fan.

This has bothered me as well in an otherwise perfect show so far. I don't understand why they didn't use a toddler for Kaylee.

Yeah when I watched it Monday night I completely missed the line from the vet about Mike being asked for by name. I would have immediately assumed Nacho and not got my hopes up about Gus. Gus may be a season finale cliffhanger at best this season I think.

I guess Mike wanted to believe the daughter-in-law's story so much that he was practically hallucinating to find some truth in it. Even when she lied the next day about the nick in the wall, he still went along. He'll do anything not to lose the granddaughter, so he's become her bitch. That's the only way I can make sense of it.

Either that or it was more for the audience's benefit for shock value.

Rewatch it. It couldn't have been clearer.

The sound got his attention, but he clearly did not react like they were gun shots. He was waiting all night for something to happen, then hears a noise and pulls his gun to be ready. If he thought they were gun shots then he would have hit the deck or at least ducked under the door frame.

This is what I'm thinking. Except I think that Tuco has delegated the duty of making Gus "go away" to Nacho. Isn't there was a connection to Hector Salamanca's immediate family and Gus with the Tequila/pool incident.

Maybe I got my lines crossed somewhere.

I used to have an Armadillo belt buckle. Bought it in Tijuana. Always wore it upside down so it looked like a dead 'dillo on the side of the road.

Some slut in Kansas ganked it from me after we hooked up.

Also, who do we think Nacho wants to go away? Do we get a Gus cameo soon?

Yea, Nacho isn't gunning for Gus. He and Tuco likely don't even know Gus or his involvement. I don't remember Tuco ever being at Gus' chicken farm as Hector and Gus were blood enemies.

If anything, Nacho is wanting to get Captain Cook's chili P out of his territory.

I hope so, because it seemed like Mike had a stronger relationship with Gus than with Saul. It would be intersting to see how Saul came to know of Gus and how Saul protected Gus' organization. They could do six seasons just of that relationship. I think without Jessie and Walt in the picture Better Call Saul has so much more potential than BB.
