Rented Now You See Me last night and it was a major disappointment. The plot was completely illogical and incomprehensible. It was made even more disappointing by the fact that it had an all-star cast.

Can anyone explain what I just watched?

The definition of a mediocre movie. Woody Harrelson was good, that was it. Stupid plot. The love storyline between Ruffalo's character and Laurent's is one of the worst I've ever seen. Severely disappointed they're making a second one.

You're right OP, with that cast it takes a lot of work to make a shite movie, and that's what the did. The only thing that made it watchable at parts was the cast itself, though mostly they went to waste.

I thought it was entertaining. That's what movies are supposed to do, entertain you.

I hated this movie so much, primarily because they made a hard working, successful entrepreneur into the villain yet again. I wanted Michael Cain to win.

True, but I did not find it entertaining. A lot of people did though obviously. If the second gets good reviews/looks like it won't be as bad (IMO) as the first then I would probably check out at some point.

Awful movie.

Jesse Eisenburg is the most overrated, overexposed male actor working today. How he continues to get lead roles in big budget films is beyond me.

I saw the trailer for the second one and wondered how in the hell did this shite movie get greenlighted for a sequel, but they are already getting a third too?

Someone that made this movie must be the kid or significant other of someone high up in the business or have some pretty good dirt on someone.

Didn't hate it but certainly didn't love it either, I watched it and enjoyed it enough to watch the sequel (not in theaters though).......but I too did not like the cliche' love story with Ruffalo & the detective chick.......I get that Ruffalo wanted to rob Cain because his company didn't pay Ruffalo's dads insurance money, but I always thought it was quite the dick move to frame Morgan Freeman's character and send him to jail just because he exposed how his dad did his tricks

Definitely one of my Hollywood crushes. Such a shame to see her in a shitty movie.

Kinda cheating to have Harry Potter doing magic though.
I liked the first one, will watch the next two, probably not in the theatre though.

The first one was entertaining enough I guess, but IMO doesn't remotely warrant a sequel, nor a third movie. I thought Jesse Eisenberg was easily the worst part of the movie.

One thing that sort of bugged me about the movie was that the payoff was that magic was real and they are warlocks or whatever...I wasn't a huge fan of that, even though it was the most logical explanation. But to be fair, I haven't seen it in a while, so I may be misremembering a little. But like I said, I enjoyed it well enough I guess.

I enjoyed it. If you look really hard into a movie about magicians then obviously you can poke holes into it. Just enjoy it for what it is
