I feel very overwhelmed by the amount of information that is dished out so quickly.

You'll get them all straight eventually. It is overwhelming at first. I didn't do this but you may want to go back and rewatch the first few episodes after you feel you got all the characters and stories straight

4. Google Images of Characters, if I'm confused

Do not Google anything Game of Thrones related, even just images. You'll get spoiled.

It certainly has a LOT of hype to live up to, based off what I've heard.

Yea, Its good, but for the hype it has, it definitely doesnt live up to it. People will get all out of sorts because I say it, but its true.

You should do a binge watch live reaction posting thread like Byron Bojangles did for Lost. That would be epic to see for Thrones

use the game of thrones wikipedia after the first couple of episodes and it will recap/explain the plot and characters.

The Jon Snow angle right now is a complete bore and I unfortunately tune out on his scenes and that storyline.

Can't think of too many more characters that you really need to know off the top of my head at this point. There are a lot of characters though.

I couldn't remember what episode those characters got introduced. Its probably been like 4-5 years since I've seen the first few episodes. Thought it might have been episode 3-4 since he's on episode 2. But here they are.

Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish

Varys

They were both introduced very early. If not the 1st episode, then the 2nd one for sure.

Read all the books first. Then watch the show as the most elaborate fan fiction/adaptation ever made.

Trust me. You'll be a lot happier and more informed.

Not sure I agree, since the show only people seem to like almost everything, and a portion of the book readers seem triggered by small changes.

Have I been introduced to this character yet? Or am I supposed to know about this by now?

Thank y'all for the info.

You already need to pay better attention. This isn't really a show that you can sort of casually watch while playing on your phone. You have to pay attention, as most things are connected and interrelated somehow.
