Dev is such a hypocritical piece of shite though. He's the first one to always call someone out for being racist/offensive/etc, but when he finds out how big ticket is perv he shuts his mouth and plays stupid. Actively pursues an engaged chick yet when she is deciding to go back to her fiancé of 10 years he whines about feeling used. Imagine how much he'd whine if he was in Pino's situation. Eesh

These are all reasons why this show is awesome. The characters are real. They have flaws. They contradict themselves

Real people are selfish. They see themselves as always right and everyone else as always wrong. They didn't give you cop outs by creating "bad people" and "good people". There will be people you encounter that you want to hate that you end up liking, there will be people that you want to like that turn out to be big time pieces of shite.

That's what's different about the show, while some plot points can be ridiculous and funny, the personalities and interactions seem genuine.

Yeah I got together with a girl at a job with a fiance and a kid and kind of tried to get her to leave him. To be fair we really clicked and were prefect for each other. That's why I said this season hit close to home for me.

As did I. Each story had hilarious parts. That lady getting pissed at the def couple for signing about vagina was awesome. The cabbie getting pissed off at passengers ruining movies was pretty good.

The interactions were good, like in the last episode or second to last episode when they were fighting, instead of some cheesy pseudo-intellectual argument, they just fought like normal people, and she stormed out. It's the little things like that that make the show good.

Probably should have used "douche" instead of "piece of shite". But flawed doesn't have to be insufferable. I'm in the 23-30 year range and I live in San Francisco, so this isn't a get off my lawn rant.

I think it's wonderfully shot, has a lot of creativity, and on the whole is incredibly relateable. Just wish Dev sucked a good bit less.

Wanted to avoid this thread until I binged season 2. Was great.

SPOILERS

I was hoping Rachel was going to come back because she and Dev had a lot of chemistry, but then Francesca grew on me. Then right when I gave up hope Rachel made it in for like 30 seconds in the last episode. Francesca doesn't have quite the personality that Rachel had but the whole foreign thing is alluring. Overall I guess I'm still Team Rachel but it's really close.

And this show's issues seems real to me. A lot of guys have been friendzoned like Francesca did to Dev. Call me a beta or whatever but it has happened to me. Wildtiger nailed it; it's tricky because she's not a bad person and Dev's not a bad person, but she knew exactly what she was doing by leading him on and was doing it for very selfish reasons. She and Pino probably were right for each other at a particular point but then they grew apart so she's getting emotional intimacy from Dev. PArt of the reason why I like Rachel better is she was never deceptive in that way.

Anyway, the I Love New York episode was probably the weakest of the season but I really liked when they started partying in the restaurant.

And I think Dev's (Aziz's) father is awesome. Not a great actor but you can see he's naturally funny like Aziz.

Waiting until late 2018-early 2019 for another season would be worth it. I heard Aziz isn't sure about another season, and I guess it's that pressure of living up to yourself when you've already had two very good seasons.

Finally finished it, it's an enjoyable show and aziz has done a great job writing and creating the show....However, I find him to be an insufferable actor. It's obviously aziz being aziz, and I imagine a lot of people like that, and I did too for the first couple seasons of parks n rec.

and this season seemed to have even more aziz than last. On the flip side I could watch Eric wareheim 24 hours a day, and I do enjoy their dynamic. But the aziz and the knockout Italian chick scenes were painful to watch.

I could watch the Thanksgiving episode over and over.

SPOILERS

I guess I need to rewatch the very end. What happened what happened with them in bed together? Was that a flash back or did they end up together or was it intentionally unclear and they're trolling us?

I really liked season 2. It didn't really have as coherent of a story line as season 1, but they did a lot of creative story telling with it.

TBS should get Aziz to do a spinoff about Denise's family. It's like a Tyler Perry show if Tyler Perry was funnier and didn't half arse it.

I'm only three episodes in, but the Westworld reference in the wedding episode was pretty funny.

They were together at the end. Some people think it was vague but those people must not have been paying any attention.

They were in bed but it didn't seem like a sexual encounter had take place. That's why it was ambiguous to me. Seems like if she stayed for him they would've gotten it in immediately.

She was probably tired from arguing with the fiancé she dumped after 10 years

It was a call back to when she stayed over, but it wasn't ambiguous. She didn't have her ring on.

Now I'm sure if there is a next season, it will deal with the sheer awkwardness and pressure they now have to make that relationship work, since she basically threw her life away for him and now neither of them have jobs. Part of that will probably deal with them finally having sex.

Plus I think Aziz didn't want to frame that scene to make it seem as though their relationship was built on lust and sexual tension. It was a nice way to say she chose him because she loved him, not because she just wanted to frick someone else

I enjoyed the NY episode too. I'm not understanding the hate it is getting from many in this thread.

Thanksgiving was a masterpiece. Just fantastic.

The show really matured in season 2. Hopefully Ansari takes his time so he can get season 3 right.

"New York, I love you" was annoying and pointless imho.

I looked at it as an homage to "22 Short Films About Springfield" that fell a little flat. It needed more story lines, imo.

I can understand what they were trying to do with the episode, but it just didnt appeal to me. I was wondering mid episode if I was still watching Masters of None.

Really like this show. These 30 minute comedy TV shows are always better if they find a way to get me thinking as well and thats what this show does. Very similar to Lovesick which is also on Netflix.
