The return of Dev/Aziz's parents in episode three is great

It was, but I had forgotten just how stiff they were on screen. Maaaaaaan. And that feels indicative of the entire show, so much of the dialogue is stiff, which is surprising because it seems like it should be more organic, and it's genuinely funny.

It hasn't really detracted from the experience as a whole as I've thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 episodes. Probably try to knock out the remaining episodes in the next week or so.

I could not disagree more.

I really wish they would have casted a better actor to play Aziz's friend.

Anyways. The show is very easy to watch but it didn't stay with me and I don't care about anything that happens in the show.

big fan of the season overall, really enjoyed the thanksgiving, i love NY, Religion and the italy episodes (minus the wedding portion). I really liked that his cousin Harris (who he's talked about a lot in his standup) plays his religious cousin in the Religion episode.

I do find arnold annoying when they do the little singing bit. Friendzone Dev was so annoying, but i'm sure Aziz has been in that situation a ton.

I felt like the switch on Chef Jeff was crappy, i really liked that character.

His mom is so bad at acting, like really bad. His female hindu friend and harris are not so great either, but his mom is terrible.

his dad stole the show again for me, did a great job.

On the ending - we noticed the lack of ring and different shirt immediately, although the weather outside matched the night she stayed over. I think it is just showing the girl considering leaving to be with Aziz.

And how shitty of her to try and give him shite for dating other girls. she's freaking engaged. Terrible.

I really don't see where people are getting this confused. Seemed very cut and dry to me.

Allora I mean it wasn't my favorite, but how do you not enjoy the rwandan immigrants getting into a really shitty club and then making their own party in a fast food restaurant after hours?

And the whole doorman thing was great, especially the guy getting blamed for eating mangos. I'm sort of partial for split storylines coming together though.

I think your opinion is in the very small minority on that one (no pun intended)

yeah, at first i was like WTF? but it grew on me. My wife and i binged it on saturday and after some time went by i appreciated it more.

Dev turning into a little bitch for an italian woman from a small town that would be shunned if she cancelled her engagement is the bigger complaint i have. Even Chef Jeff knew it was a no-brainer.

She was a smoke show and that accent made her even hotter. I don't blame him one bit. She's like a hotter Megan Draper

I will say it's crazy that the fiancé just lets his girl go on these ridiculously romantic "dates" with Dev for a month. "Oh hey babe, just about to go on a helicopter ride with Dev, it's gonna be fun!"

"I'm just gonna go watch a romantic movie at devs house during a blizzard, talk to you later!"

Guy had to be an idiot.

I do appareciate that they didn't try to make him out to be some really shitty BF, it made it seem more honest. Usually the trope is she'll find out he's cheating and give her an out. Leaving him high and dry like that is shitty, but that's life sometimes.

I enjoyed the New York episode.

And how is anyone hating on Big Bud in here? Eric Wareheim is the man.

The Le Nozze episode was insufferable and forced to me. Suddenly he tells Dev he was in a decade long relationship? I thought these guys were friends.

I've watched 8 episodes..and half of me really enjoys the show, and half feels none of the emotions are earned (save the Thanksgiving episode)

I don't think they ever went into how long they've been friends. He could've easily been a guy he's only known since he's been single.

Weirder part is why is the ex boyfriend being invited to your wedding

He was better in season 2, but I couldn't stand him in season 1.

I really liked the NY episode. It kind of came out of nowhere, but I thought it was sweet and the guys were funny. The characters in this show are just so unique and it's such a different type of show. I like what he is trying to do.

The Thanksgiving show was just awesome. That is some of the best television I have ever seen. Bassett is still too fine, they just can't ugly her down at all.

I hope there is a 3rd season. He doesn't have to star in it. He could just focus on other people and tell more stories. He is on the cusp of something really special. I hope that people talk him into it..

Really liked the season, production quality went up quite a bit..

SPOiLeRS

Dev is such a hypocritical piece of shite though. He's the first one to always call someone out for being racist/offensive/etc, but when he finds out how big ticket is perv he shuts his mouth and plays stupid. Actively pursues an engaged chick yet when she is deciding to go back to her fiancé of 10 years he whines about feeling used. Imagine how much he'd whine if he was in Pino's situation. Eesh

I was a big fan of Aziz before the show, and the show has made me respect his talents even more. But the character Dev makes less of a fan of Aziz cause he's so terrible.

See that hypocritical flaw makes me like the character more because it's very real for a lot of millenals. A lot of the characters and dialogue are interesting because they seem so real for those 23-30ish year olds, even if the actors and delivery is somewhat sub-par.

I love this show, I can't place my finger on what it is, but it just feels different than a lot of other stuff out right now.
