I really hope it's better than they're saying. What have been the major issues with it?

Biggest complaint I have seen is that like all the Marvel Netflix shows it hits a wall with pacing issues. The other shows found ways around them, but this show hits the wall in the first episode and doesn't get over it. What I get for the most part is that the show is boring as frick!!! i got bored with Luke Cage and never finished it. I probably won't even start this one.

Right. 13 episodes is too much.

I've watched all of the Netflix Marvel shows so far, so I'll give Iron Fist a shot, but I'm not excited about it.

Didnt the Marvel movies and TV departments have a falling out with each other and almost cease contact? If that was Marvel and not D.C., then I'm not surprised the movies continue to impress and the shows are declining

2nd rate garbage like most of Netflix's comic book originals. Jessica Jones is the only good one and that's solely because of the great villain and accompanying performance

Good point, they need to go down to 8-10 episodes. I very much like DD and JJ, but both shows have far too much filler. I could see why people can get bored with it.

Yes.

There's a subset of Marvel fans that differentiate Marvel TV, Marvel Fox Studios, and Marvel Comics from the films, claiming that Marvel Studios is today's "True Marvel" and everything else is bogus or, at best, suspect.

That way they can dismiss Marvel cancelling the Fantastic Four comic or Ike Permutter joining Trump's team as not being "Marvel".

Now that the Netflix series have taken a downward turn since Jessica Jones, the Netflix portion of Marvel is in that forbidden zone.

D'Onofrio carries the first season of Daredevil, hell his episodes are the highlights of season 2 as well.

The graveyard scene with Frank Castle in season 2 is the best in the series.

Let's not forget the interactions between Castle and Fisk as well.

One of the big complaints I heard is that there's more boardroom politics in Iron Fist than kung fu fighting.
I never could get that into Daredevil or Luke Cage (although I liked the character of Luke and the Wu-Tang/blacksploitation vibe), but I really dug Jessica Jones.

Good. The world would be a better place without another Marvel or DC movie.

Really? I wasn't aware that comic book movies is what is keeping us from finding the cure to cancer.

Word is that Marvel/Netflix may be making a Daredevil announcement tomorrow. Possibly a release of the Punisher premiere date or some Punisher footage.

Would be good timing, if folks are down on Iron Fist and the Marvel/Netflix brand right now.

Are the Defenders shows really part of the MCU? It seems like minimal references at best.

I'm going to venture a guess that you're a DCEU apologist.

The major flaw, at least to start off with for the NetFlix MCU shows, is that you have reluctant heroes not eager to embrace their powers. I would expect that after The Defenders that aspect of the shows should change a bit. Luke Cage might not be boring if he's willing to start wrecking shite. One of the best scenes of Luke Cage was when he went on the offensive and took out the bad guys building.

My problem with Luke Cage is you've got a guy that bullets bounce off of. It takes a hell of a lot more than a gangster nightclub owner to be a danger to him.
Kilgrave was someone who could really hurt Jessica Jones. Kingpin was someone who was a serious threat to Daredevil.

Each of the shows have good reasons for that.

Daredevil ends up bleeding in a trash bin after the first episode.

Jessica Jones tried to be a hero, ended up getting
"Kilgraved" and KILLED SOMEONE WITH HER BARE HANDS.

Luke Cage was trying to keep a low profile due to being an escaped prison inmate.

Maybe if Cottonmouth hadn't been such a single minded moron he could have found some other way than a super bullet to take out Luke.

Shades straight up told him to try to poison or drown Cage before spending out the arse on ammo but Cottonmouth had a massive hard on for the exploding bullets which essentially is what led to his downfall.
