Is the MCU honeymoon finally coming to an end?

Currently at 14% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I really hope it's better than they're saying. What have been the major issues with it?

Didn't realize it was about to be released and had no idea Finn Jones was playing the Iron Fist. Seems like bad casting killed this one.

That it's basically a kung-fu remake of Batman Begins.

I mean, Luke Cage should have been the beginning of this because that show was terrible.

Just out of curiosity, how many of the critics are ones panning it for the "cultural appropriation" of martial arts or feeding into the crap about the casting being "whitewashing"? I've read there were some flaws but I also see a ton of that BS feeding some of those reviews.

I have as well which is why I'm still going to watch it. A lot of the complaints have been trivial (i.e. cultural appropriation).

I only skimmed a few of the 14 or so reviews that were linked on RT but the main complaints were that the story of rich white orphan going to far east to learn karate is overdone at best and "problematic" at worst, the fight scenes aren't exciting enough, and his powers are boring.

Finn Jones is a bad casting choice. I'll probably give it a chance though.

I still haven't watched Luke Cage yet because I heard it wasn't that good. I'm guessing by your comment that I made the right choice?

To be honest, the Netflix Marvel shows that I've watched have underwhelmed me. I lasted a couple of episodes with Daredevil and a few with Luke Cage. But neither caught my interest. And that's coming from a long time Marvel fan.

So I dunno, maybe Iron Fist will appeal to me even if it doesn't appeal to the critics. I'll give it a shot.

Does't sound like a bad thing to me

I'm not going to put much stock into the critics though. Luke Cage got incredible reviews and it was boring as shite.

I actually stopped watching after that, just had no interest anymore. I guess I'll try to watch those last 4 episodes or so before I start Iron Fist.
