I like the stuff w/Ghost Rider and the fricked up demon faces May and others are seeing are kind of cool but the actual ghost scientists that cause them are weak sauce. I hope GR kills them pretty fast. Hopefully whoever they are pissed at is worth a damn.

Also, I like the joke they made about people always wanting Marvel's big guns guesting on AOS by having one of the other Captain Americas end up being the new director of Shield.

Are the ghosts based on any comic characters?

No idea...and I like the reveal of Jeffrey Mace as the Director.

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but i'm pretty sure I saw the LMD when Coulson and the Director were giving the tour to the congressman.

it appears the beginning of this season will lead up to Dr. Strange, and will affect AOS going forward.

Bump for tonight's episode.

So, SHIELD is out in the open now so it will be interesting to see what happens going forward.

Also, who or what was that thing at the end that Senator Nadeer was talking to?

The what is easy. That's the cocoon that an inhuman is encased by when exposed to terrigen.

The who? That I don't know.

I haven't watched this since season 1 - is it worth it to go back and look again?

It got a lot, lot better once they got past Winter Soldier (the movie plot forced them to shoehorn a lot of stuff in). Introducing the Inhumans, and now this season, has been pretty epic. I would say seasons 3 & 4 are must see, 1 & 2 only if you want to understand the character dynamics.

I could be wrong, but man I love how they use this show to kinda lead up to their next movie coming out. It's probably pretty to safe to say that this book they are looking for will definitely tie into Dr. Strange, which is only two weeks away from this Friday, so that leaves two episodes before the movie comes out.

I just wish there was a way to not have the damn commercials break in every time something awesome is about to happen. Ghost Rider vs Hellfire getting broken in half was horseshite.

The "Darkhold" (the book) is responsible for a lot of the really bad supernatural elements in Marvel and is the repository of knowledge of Chthon.

Chthon and the Darkhold are responsible for several nasty things including:

-Vampires
-Werewolves
-Dormammu
-Mount Wundagore (where Chaos Magic originates)
-The High Evolutionary
-Jessica Drew getting poisoned and receiving her powers

Thanks for the info. I am still learning all about the Marvel Universe since I was never into it when I was younger.

So I don't have time to watch 3 seasons at 20 episodes a piece. Can I start at season 2 or 3 and be good? I wanna see ghost rider.

I guess you could. the first couple of episodes in season 1 are pretty meh, but then it gets really good. You'd have a hard time understanding the teams hatred for a certain someone in seasons 2 and 3 if you didn't watch season 1.

I would not mind seeing her put into the MCU somewhere.

-Dormammu

I was wondering if the mystical turn AoS is taking would tie into Doctor Strange in any meaningful way.

Didn't these also play a role in Scarlet Witch's powers? In the comic books, not MCU. Unless Marvel retconned her backstory, I seem to remember her and Quicksilver being raised on Mt Wundagore. She's a mutant, but the Darkhold or Chthon expanded on her mutant powers.
