Love that movie.

I want the people to know that they still have 2 out of 3 branches of the government working for them, and that ain't bad.

Mars Attacks is a really good movie. Its absurdity turned off a lot of people, but it has a bit of a cult following. The cast was fricking loaded, too.

I was 8 when that movie came out and I remember those guns that burnt people into skeletons scaring the shite out of me.

"Tame movies that scared the shite out of you when you were young" would make for a good thread. While it's happening here, I'll chime in with the wolf and turtle thingies in "The Neverending Story." Had many nightmares about the wolf in particular.

I like the end when Natalie Portman is in charge of the country and the mariachi band is playing the national anthem. She gives out the Medal of Honor. Haha.

My dad porked my mom some time in the Summer of 89 when her birth control failed and I broke on through to the other side.

BTW, how the hell did they get such a solid cast to agree to this movie? Jack Nicholson, Pierce Brosnan, Natalie Portman, Annette Benning, SJP, Danny Devito and Glenn Close.

Don't forget Michael J. Fox and a young Jack Black.

I derailed this thread when I first mentioned that I thought Scruffy was older. I was born in 76 and I was thinking he was way older than me.

Tim Burton directed it? Plus, once they got like 5 big names it probably became a thing in Hollywood, and everyone wanted to do it.

Somehow I've seen this movie so many times yet can never recall making a conscious decision to watch it. Must have been on TV a lot when I was a kid.

Plus the dulcet tones of Slim Whitman.
