That Charlize and her wacky lesbian ways. I can't see it this weekend, but I still will.

She actually did a really good job. I usually am not her biggest fan, but her character was good.

I've always enjoyed her work. She wasn't to blame for Prometheus being a huge disappointment, but if there's a feminist activist message in this film, she likely had something to do with it.

I never knew Tom Hardy used to be a crack addict. Damn.

Her performance in Bagger Vance has forever turned me off on her. God that accent was just so bad

Yeah, that was one of the worst southern accents in modern film.

IMDB posters are losing their minds over the feminism angle. It's a real shite fight over there.

Damn, thats a little disappointing. Still going to check it out though. Funny that you mentioned Prometheus lol. T guess we must have felt the same way. I had sky high expectations for that movie and left the theater feeling so let down...

It didn't seem to be that big at the time. I was conscious of how everyone besides Nux and Max were women protagonists.

But I didn't find that much feminism in it. There's a little, but enough to bitch over? Nah

Yea, I didn't catch on to any of it either until the end. I thought people were talking about the group of women they meet towards the end at first. I had no idea they were mad at the overall message of the film, which I still don't think their view is accurate.

I am one that generally picks up on stuff like that pretty easily, and I didn't think of it as some feminist message at all.

I'm still seeing it tonight with high expectations. I love action, don't really care if a film has character development.

Only problem I had was there was a part where it seemed to have a feminist element to it.

Yeah because women should be subservient to men, right?

I thought it was great. A very well done action movie that has a lot of depth even though it lacks dialogue.

I liked how miller started the creation process in storyboard. He basically created a graphic novel and brought it to life on the big screen. So the visuals are amazing.

Like some reviews said, I wish there was more Max, but I feel better knowing that miller has already written the next film.

Tom Hardy was excellent though. He sounded a lot like Mel Gibson did at times

He really did. This version was definitely a lot grittier. Lots of grunts

There were times that he really nailed Gibson's "Max speak" though.

I thought it was great. It was not a perfect movie, but it had a lot to offer.

The first thing you'll notice about Fury Road is the art direction and costume design. Maybe some of the best I've ever seen. The world created by George Miller is visually stunning. It's essentially everything he wanted to create in Road Warrior but didn't have the capability to at that time. The vehicles are inventively designed and everything has that WOW factor. All of the characters look fantastic and each one appears as though there's some kind of story behind them.

The action is superb. Much like Road Warrior, the car chase scenes are amazing, but with a modern technological update obviously. It's literally a graphic novel brought to life. They are chaotic and beautiful.

I really enjoyed the movie immensely, but I was a little disappointed in the last act. It was cool, but I really didn't get that Mad Max, badass moment I wanted. Like in Road Warrior when he turns and shoots that car with his sawed off shotgun. Tom Hardy was a little underwhelming as Max also, IMO. It looked like there was a lot of voice over with his character and he felt very dull to me. I didn't expect him to do as well as Mel Gibson, but I don't know, I was really just underwhelmed with his performance.

Everyone else was great, though. Nicholas Hoult, Charlize Theron, the villain. The characters were so fantastically done and looked AMAZING. There is well established motivations with the characters and (unlike some in this thread have said) there is great development. Especially with Nux (Nicholas Hoult). They all have their own identifying features that make them unique, except for Max. Maybe that was Miller's intention. Maybe he wanted to make everyone else interesting around Max, like he was a plain, average person in a world of chaos.

It's a wild, fun, and beautiful ride and I would recommend the movie to anyone. I give it an 8/10.
