I'll throw in another vote for Little Big League.

I thought this would be a runaway for Rookie of the Year.

LBL. My brother and I wore out the freaking VHS. The soundtrack is awesome, the cameo's are awesome and its funny as hell.

Lonnie-"Hey man, kids today are amazing! I was playing winterball down in Venezuala, every last one of them kids was speaking Spanish!"

Lou-"They speak spanish in Venezuala...."

Lonnie-"I know! That's my point!"

Kids today are amazing. I played winter ball down in Venezuela and there were kids down there half his age speaking Spanish, and that's a hard language.

They speak Spanish in Venezuela.

I know, that's my point.

It's too close to call for me.

I like the montage and music in LBL

but Rookie of the Year has Daniel Stern and Gary Busey

I like the lead kid better in LBL

Okay I'm going to pick LBL

You quoted it way better.

HALF HIS AGE! Still makes me laugh.

George Offarrell was also legandary. Farina is awesome.
Hey 'Blackout,' I didn't get you for your curve ball. I don't like your curve ball. As a matter of fact, I hate your curve. You know why? Because the damn thing don't curve!

this exact comparison topic has been brought up a number of times over the years and little big league actually always wins around here.

Rookie of the Year

This movie was great when I was 7 and it's still great at 28. It completely BLOWS AWAY Little Big League.

The key to being a big league pitcher is the 3 R's: readiness, recuperation, and conditioning!

LBL

Sometimes when I get off the phone with someone I grew up with, I'll end the conversation with "I can't talk now. I'm sitting on Lowell".

That was a great era for kids sports movies...Sandlot, mighty ducks 1 and 2, the little giants, rookie of the year, little big green, angels in the outfield....I'm probably leaving a few obvious ones off.

But all movies that were not only awesome back then but have managed to hold up well. Kids now only seem to get animated movies.

As a kid, RotY. As an adult, LBL. I just like LBL better as I've grown up.

This is about right

A better question probably would of been Sandlot vs. Rookie of the year.

That's brutal RotY was probably more fun, but the Sandlot is the only one of the 3 films in this thread that's a legit classic.
