The first one ended in such cringeworthy hopelessness that I almost decided to stop watching the show altogether, but the way the second one ended seemed like it open the door for things to start looking up again for Phil. He can do some pretty detestable things, but I like that the story is told in a way that makes him a sympathetic character and we can see his thought process as he makes blunder after blunder.
