Last night's episodes were really solid I thought.

I almost like more people showing up, as long as they all (or mostly all) women. I love him "competing" with Todd all the time, and Todd always winning.

And we got a good moment in the end where he and Carol admit that they should've never gotten married, and she granted him a divorce. That was cool. And based on the previews it looks like he starts "courting" the new chicks, which should result in some hilarity for sure, especially with Carol in bitch mode.

And I know Phil is largely an a-hole so far, but think about being alone for two whole years with nothing to do, and then all of a sudden in a matter of days (or a couple weeks) having to readjust to people again. Or readjust to "society," even if it's just four or five other people. That can't be easy. Let alone how horny you've been for two years and now women (attractive ones at that) are suddenly around now. While Phil certainly doesn't have much couth at times, at least his actions and attitudes are understandable to a degree.

Also, I caught a bit of The Watch over the weekend (the movie with Jonah Hill, Vince Caughn, Ben Stiller, and Richard Ayoade) and check out who acted together in that movie. Took this pic with my phone:

It blew my mind and I legit yelled and jumped off my couch and got really happy when I saw that for some reason.

I agree with this. I kept finding myself wanting Phil to just tell everyone to frick themselves and that he never wanted the marriage to begin with. Instead they had him come in genuine and say it.

Yeah I was just saying last night the whole marriage thing was a turn I didn't enjoy. But I guess that made January Jones showing up right after all the more hilarious.

I kinda wish he still had the beard from the beginning. But yeah, I'm really enjoying it. I've lol'd quite a few times each episode.

And the only reason he got married in the first place was because he wanted to have sex and Carol wouldn't do it unless she was married.

So much of the premise of this show is based around a single primal need: sex. They call it marriage or sex or "repopulation," but it's all the same thing, and it drives the plot. So while Phil comes off as unlikable a lot of times, he's doing what most of us likely would in that situation (or at least where his intentions come from).

exactly. Everyone acts like he is some dickhead for wanting to hook up. Meanwhile that is what they need to be doing. And yes, I would have tried to figure out a way to hook up with January Jones even though she is now a complete bitch on the show too.

I'm pretty sure Todd is the head of security at Greendale on Community at the beginning of season 3

If I was Phil at this point, I would tell every to frick themselves and move somewhere else. Those ladies will regret only having 1 fat man, and that man taken to boot. I would come back in about a year, by which time all will be forgotten.

January Jones becoming a bitch was just so predictable. She's not a great actress, so it's smart writing to let her be herself.

One of the head writers posts on Reddit and he has basically admitted that they are talking about the "errors" they have made, especially with Phil's character, and are going to continue to talk about it into next season.

Even Forte has admitted he's not particularly thrilled with how Phil's character has come across.

I think Forte can be very likable. They really wasted that. And now they have some work to do to make any transition natural.

did he say what he meant by errors or how the character comes across? I like his character for the most part and understand the place he's at. The errors are what I'm more interested in.

Also, them doubling down each week is strange to me. They are running it like a midseason show that is a one and done and have from the start.

I think Todd is the only likable person on the show. He is at least appreciative that Phil brought them all together. Everyone else is a complete bitch to Phil.

I don't see January Jones as a bitch on the show. Phil has been a complete jerk to her, how's she supposed to act around him?

Also, I'm wondering what if Carol got pregnant and they don't know yet. I'm thinking that would be way too intense for this show though.

predicting there was some big screw job in those divorce papers...something funny though, like he has to live in her house with the cow and no door or he has to clean her toilet pool or he tenders her the Presidency of the United States.

I think it's justified. But she still has to act like a bitch, which she is great at doing. It's called "being herself."

But like it was mentioned in this thread, Phil's signs are the only reason all of these people are together. They should be at least a bit grateful.

Obviously, there is no way of enforcing any of this.

Just finished watching the last 2 eps. I really enjoyed them. Quite a few solid laughs in the first of the two. Interested in seeing where it goes from here.
