Over all good show.

I feel like seasons 7-8 really went off the rails.

Hated the ending.

Dexter was the GOAT until it wasn't.

The show really doesn't hold up well.

When I see reruns on NUVO or whatever it is, they seem really cheesy

They peaked with season 4.

Lithgow is great when he plays a creep.

With the awesome setup and harsh ending, there was no way they could top season 4.

The early Dexter seasons were great because of the tension of his secret. The more people that learned of him and the less they focused on his police buddies finding him out, the worse it got. The end was simply so stupid one cannot comprehend how it was the same show as Seasons 1,2 and 4.

The way this show went downhill is seriously something to be studied. I thought the writers were doing it on purpose at the end. As if Showtime was threatening to cancel them and they said "frick you, we will do nothing but write crap then." I just don't see how the same team that put out such great stuff for years could have come to that!

It makes what Breaking Bad did look all that more remarkable, keeping a show in top form from the beginning until the end.

Seasons 1 and 2 are some of the best TV I've ever seen. So many "WTF?!" moments. There is still some great stuff throughout the entire show, though. I've been meaning to go back and watch it from the beginning.

Just finished watching it. One of the better shows I've seen. They did a good job of ratcheting the tension level sky high, usually.

While not the ending I would have preferred, I can respect it. Having Deb dead and seeing the image of a man so completely shattered at the very end was darker than what I would have liked, but it makes enough sense I can wrap my head around it well enough.

The one thing that really pissed me off was that in my whole goddamn life I have never seen worse season to season continuity on a tv show, fricking ever. It was really evident if you watched all 8 seasons in a week or so. The shite was absolutely atrocious.

Went downhill with me after Trinity.

Ending was a textbook example of how not to end a series.

That flaming pile of garbage they called an ending should not be respected at all.

Unless you viewed it as a comedy.

Dexter went from having almost no feelings to having more emotions than he could deal with. One extreme to the next over the course of the series. I can live with it.

After seeing all the bitching that was online after that episode first aired and managing to avoid any spoilers, the Sopranos ending pissed me off much worse.

I think it was the opposite. I thought the writers were ready to end it, but Showtime made them go one more season, so they changed up the last two seasons and added in a bunch of bullshite.

I'm hard pressed to find an ending that is worse than Dexter.

Seasons 1-4 was some truly great television.. I did enjoy the rest, but hated the ending myself.

5 was ok, but it really liked 6. Doomsday killer was a good season IMO. casting of todler Harrison killed so much of the later seasons.
