the first few seasons had a better portrayal of apocalypse. The apocalypse should be getting worse over time and the number of living should be few. But its going the opposite way. The core group has gotten huge and they keep running into more people. Their living conditions have gotten better (latest episodes have characters making cookies and mig welding).

The show should be dark and getting darker til the very end.

It's a show based upon a comic book that is still in production. The story wouldn't be coming to an end unless the TV show just went off and created as completely different storyline.

As long as people continue to watch, the show will remain on television.

Well that is a great formula for selling dish detergent. Not such a great formula for making a good show.

I haven't.
This season has been excellent.

Watch what you want to watch, or don't watch what you don't want to watch.
It's not a huge deal.

I get that not everything is for everyone, but it strikes me as odd for someone who likes something to dislike it as it gets even better.

This half season has me completely uninterested and I've lost all desire to watch the show. I'm roughly 3 episodes behind and Ive got no desire to watch.

That's 3 good episodes.

I think the show in general has become extremely repetitive and dull.

It's now a long running show about the zombie apocalypse, I mean, Yes I get it....but it's always been "Rick's Group on the Run from Zombies and Worse Humans." This hasn't changed, or will it

I thought the Alexandria stuff was well done, clearly a group that had little experience in dealing with the ZA.

Rick and Co are turning into the people they used to hate.

This is fair, but that's the point, I think. You mentioned the show hasn't changed, but if Rick's group is changing....

And although I agree, that's kind of the point, the last 2 episodes have showed multiple people dealing with that.

Nope. And it's totally ok that you have, howeer, I think the show is even better than it was in Season 3/4. 6 has been great with Carol, the Alexandria Dynamic, etc.

I did after the governor died.. just became lame repetition. That's why I absolutely LOVED Breaking Bad.. I like most people watched all first 5 seasons in a weekend, then it made season 6 brutal to wait for! Finest show ever made! The thing I feel is a killer for TWD is it doesn't have a "wider scale" feel of what in the hell is going on in the rest of the country and world. The isolation of the group is just beyond tired.

The mid season premiere IMO was great, I like when the show has a nice balance of character storylines per episode.

The show has never been that great ever to begin with. It's a good show but not worth all the praise it receives by a lot of people. There is a reason it doesn't win many emmys

The first half of this season was a little stale. Ever since the mid-season break, though, it has been really good. Maybe one of the best halves in the series.

There are very few people but they tend to congregate. You have to figure the human population has more or less leveled off but the walker population has plummeted. There's no reason conditions should be getting worse.

It has definitely declined since season 2, and much of its success is due to mindless fanboy fixation, but it's still a very watchable show. This season has been way better than the last two IMO.

You can't compare to shows like BB where there is a set end point and the series is meant to be art. TWD is meant to be mindless zombie fun.

The 2nd to last episode with Carol/Maggie team-up was superb.

Goodbye.

just curious for you all complaining that there's no "end-game" in sight...what would you consider an appropriate end for this show?

for example someone brought up breaking bad. great show, but the ending was always going to be the resolution of walt's character arc, either dead/incarcerated/disappeared, but always ended. here, we have a show that on the surface offers no hope for a traditional resolution, it is an illustration of eliot's view on how the world ends, "not with a bang but a whimper".

a whimper can continue indefinitely, as the world we know slowly dies. personally i find that much more interesting than a meteor strike or a nuclear exchange. there are no heroes here, no apparent "cure", no real goals for the characters at all but to stay alive

the end is not the point, it's the journey and if you find that boring or repetitive then fine, dont watch. theres nothing like it on TV, and its the only "network" show i care to watch

Not sure about that...just about every episode involves their search for new sources of food. Its pretty much the theme of this season.

Been the way for a few seasons now. The dialogue is extremely lazy and the characters are over-acted. Its a simple show for simple minded people.

or for people that can differentiate between a mind blowing series that they want to be moved by and a series that is about fun, mindless zombie killing before they have to go to work on Monday

I think it is as good as ever. Once they moved on from the prison, I've ally enjoyed it again. And Rick's group turning into what they used to hate is exactly the transformation that keeps it from being "the same old thing."
