That's much more due to the fact that it's a horror show about zombies. Hollywood snobs always turn their nose up at anything horror.

I lost interest last year. It is the same thing every single year. They wander around trying not to get bit. Someone shockingly dies at some point. They always run into a new bad guy or set of bad guys. Multiple episodes of people trapped and somehow miraculously escaping an entire horde of zombies. Wash rinse and repeat.

I don't understand that criticism. That's like saying "The Sopranos" is always the same thing because every episode is about the mafia and someone getting killed or that "Breaking Bad" is always the same because it's always about some guy and his buddy making drugs and the DEA is trying to catch him. It's a show about survival in the zombie apocalypse.

I'm so sick of law and order. All they do is try to catch bad guys every. single. episode. Ugh. So old!

The majority of those Emmy-winning shows would trade places with TWD in a heart-beat. TWD leads all in money, popularity, and pop culture impact.

No way any part of TWD deserves and emmy.

Two things:

How fricking complex do you people want a zombie apocolypse to be?
It's about to get MUCH more complex so there's that.

Do they give emmys for special effects? It should absolutely be up for those.

ETA: Hollywood award shows are useless anyway.

Ive lost interest for the most part, but i still watch it, because one in every 4 episodes will draw me back in. Part of the allure to me has always been that they kept it borderline realistic(yes, i know zombies arent real), but now they have just gone off the deep end with the characters being able to get out of every scenario they get in. Glenn under the dumpster, Daryle killing the guys with a freaking RPG, Eugene biting the dudes nuts last night through a pair of blue jeans. shite just gets too fricking dumb.

the "unrealistic" shite that always got me was the magical walkers who were so quiet walking through the forest that they could appear out of NOWHERE. i could ignore the headshot cheat code, but that shite would INFURIATE me

There is a button on your remote control that allows you to change the channel. When you are watching a show that you don't like, then press the + or - key and it will take you to another show. Keep pressing it until you find somehting that you like.

In the meantime, those of us who still like the show will not be changing channels.

I certainly get that sometimes genre shows/movies are going to be slighted by the awards voters. That said, in six months, a fantasy show featuring dragons, white walkers, zombies, and blood magic will break the all time record for Emmys won by a drama series.

would be more interesting to me if the zombies started dropping off and decomposing to the point where they were non-functional and the story shifted towards the new societies emerging from the ruins

they are basically there now

when was the last time anyone we cared about got masticated? they are just an environmental hazard now...the real danger is from other people and has been for a long time

yes alexandria got over-run but all they lost was a dumb blonde and her two idiot sons
