My Sister quit watching after Season 1 because her hate for Walter White was so strong.

I'm in the minority but I also loved Nip/Tuck. And I hated Julia in that show, as well. Maybe I'm just geared toward hating the wives of white collar criminals.

I really never hated Skyler. I know she did not play things right but she was in a bad situation. Im not sure how any person would handle that place she was in.
On the other hand, I wanted Marie to die with fire. She was the only character on the show that I just hated.
Skyler White may have been a easy character to hate but Anna Gunn played it perfectly.

Meh, if you don't have the time don't force yourself through it. This show is vastly overrated.

Everybody has an opinion but this is just wrong:
Especially the use of "vastly" as a descriptor.
There have been several new series done for TV/cable that have taken advantage of the time span of several seasons, with 50-100 hours of air time, to develop long character arcs of the type you simply cannot achieve in a normal television show or even in a movie or trilogy series of movies.
These shows were made with the knowledge that they could be watched later thru Netflix and other such formats, so that viewers could catch all of the subtle and slow developing nuance that they might have missed if they relied on trying to catch the show in order every week at the time it aired.
The makers of Breaking Bad have done this as good as if not better than anyone else. The character arcs are incredibly long. Characters that you once hated or loved will unfold in ways that surprise you time and again, and you end up loving those you hated and vice versa.
A valid criticism is that they did this so well that it actually detracted from the overall enjoyment of the show. You end up not really liking or trusting ANY of the characters. They all seem so flawed that there's hardly anyone to root for.
Nevertheless, the intellectual and emotional roller coaster is one hell of a ride. The use of foreshadowing and flash back are superb and the complexity of the characters, especially Walter, is just beyond anything you ever see in a TV show.

Ziggy
Janice Soprano
I hate both characters way more than Skyler, and they are less justifiable. Don't get me wrong, I never liked when we took time away form Heisenberg to focus on Skyler, but the show was better for her being on it, which is more than I can say for the above characters (as believable as they may be).
And for me, the most hatable character is Joffrey Baratheon, but I usually don't include him because it's still easy to enjoy his scenes.

Her character would be more sympathetic if she didn't treat him like Walter Jr. from the get go. I think most of her frustrations stem from the fact that she wasn't in control.

SPOILER
I was annoyed by Skylar at times, but her and Walter had such an amazing dynamic for control of normalcy while both being POS people somewhat.
On the other hand I hated Marie with a passion. I wanted her to suffer the most brutal murder. Also one of my favorite scenes was Hank and Marie watched that DVD and knew they could do nothing but keep their mouth shut. Saw that coming way back when Walter paid for Hanks medical bills.

Yep.

Skyler is disgusting. I mean, there aren't any likable characters on the show and she's by far the worst. She should've been the one with cancer. Vagina cancer.

My cousin is a TV actress and turned down the role of Skyler. CSB, i know. Probably for the best, Anna Gunn is going to receive the Louise Fletcher treatment of being typecast as an insufferable bitch.

How can you possibly loather her more than WW himself?

I'll give you a counter-example: Walt Jr. is at best a 2 dimensional character (flirting often with 1 dimensionality). Seriously, there is effectively zero character development with him - and it could have been very interesting had there been. But no - he has cerebral palsy so he plays a straight up crippled good guy with no nuance whatsoever for the entirety of the show. Very cheap and lazy IMO.
Posted on 3/13/16 at 3:55 pm to Big Scrub TX
I guess he could have been done better, but he seemed like an insufferable teenage angsty son or a bitch who happened to have cerebral palsy. Probably pissed because of his malady, and trying hard to be normal. That was done fairly well, and no need to muck around with such a minor player anyhow.

Man commits crime (many argue it shouldn't even be a crime) to help provide for his family after his death.
Woman cheats on man and throws it in his face as punishment.
Seems pretty self explanatory to me.

Long time since I watched it, but I think you've seen enough already to know that WW's motivation is only tangentially to provide for his family after his death.

Again, you haven't seen the whole thing, but her cheating is way down on the list of bad things that either of them did.

Except for when she gained 50 lbs from one season to the next before slimming back down.
