And I know it's been discussed many times, but I don't know that I can loathe a person any more than Skyler White. Horrible, horrible person, and anyone that makes excuses for her, i.e. her husband was a criminal, etc., is just as horrible.

I hate her character in the show, but Anna Gunn's acting was great during the show. I hate it when people say bad/annoying character = bad acting.

This x100

She was meant to be annoying and cause more reason for someone to pull for the bad guy

And I'm extremely jealous youre watching this for the first time. If you're just halfway, it's only gets so much better from there

Oh I never meant to downplay her acting. It's great. But she is so easy to hate. I remember reading an article about how she would get hate mail and death threats because of the show

I had watched the first 2 seasons a couple of years ago but never finished it. I'm now on season 3 where

**Spoiler Alert**

Walt just started back cooking for the chicken guy.

Walter put her in a horrible position. She almost could have been sympathetic, but as someone else put it they didn't make her so because it kind of made you root for the bad guy (Walt) more. She definitely handled it poorly and made some pretty crappy decisions herself. I'm hesitant to give too many details about that because I don't remember when things happened exactly, and I don't want to give spoilers. In the end I felt more bad for her than anything.

Yes. Quite an odd angle the show took with all that.

So did Ted, but she had no problem banging him. I guess it's difficult to put myself in her shoes but when she told Walter about about screwing Ted, I'd have been happy if a stray bullet would have entered her temple.

That's what I mean by she could have been sympathetic, but they didn't go that way. She finds out her husband is cooking meth? What does she do? Does she go the the police? No, she fricks her boss to get even. She had opportunities to do the "right" thing. She isn't willing to pay the price.

Yea, she chose to shelter her son instead of going to the police. Also the money had a lot to do with it as well IMO

I don't know that I'd have felt much better had she gone to the police. But that's just giving credit to the writers that made Walt such a sympathetic character. If she was that pissed off, just leave him. She had no idea of what all he had really done. As far as she knows he could have cooked a few batches, sold it, and been done. Instead, she sat on her high horse, after not working for who knows how many years...oh my bad, she sold short stories and then retaliates to her husband who has LUNG CANCER by not allowing him to see his kids. And when he calls her on it, she bangs her boss. Pure evil.

Should I open Pandora's box and start watching this series from the beginning? Serious question

Yes, no doubt. It rivals Lost as far as character development, imo. Of course, I still have 2 1/2 seasons to go, so it may turn to crap before I'm done, but from what I've read/heard, the later seasons are better than early ones.
