That kind of seemed weird to me at first as well, but I thought about it. Are they going to let a kid die to save an older man? Plus, the president may have been able to survive longer than the other people in line until his turn, kind of like what happened. I just kind of let it go after thinking about it.

I loved this season. Binged it like crazy all day.
Meh. They're stretching the arc. First season was great for setting the scene and positioning the Underwoods for the presidency. Second season was a good show of them consolidating gains and making their move at considerable risk. Third season really should have been the last (everything could easily have unraveled in that one season--bringing down the house). But I guess they made it work.
Now they are on the skis and approaching the ramp.
This season confirms for me that Claire is ultimately worse than Frank.
And in Conway they've managed to find a second person actually worse than Frank.
I'll keep watching, but they're just milking it at this point. Time for these frickers to go down already. No one is that teflon coated and, tbh, Frank is kind of a frickup as president. There's no reason to believe that someone that incompetent and that hated could keep weathering shite--especially with all the people he screws over and brings in and out of his inner circle.

They had to work to make him worse. And I'm not sure he's worse.

Agreed.

Pretty clear to me how they will end it which sucks since I hate Claire.
I would hate to see her finish the series as president.

She gonna kill Frank.
It is known.

quote:It does seem a little efforted, but he makes my skin crawl. Maybe it's the extra effort he goes to with the wife and kids and webcasts. I finished it a couple of hours ago and it's officially in "Scandal" territory. I mean it was never really realistic, but it's become laughable. Always some hare-brained solution that works out because everyone becomes retarded whenever the Underwoods are involved. Walker, Tusk, Dunbar, Durant, etc. can all go down for various things, but the bisexual president whom everyone knows is crooked and who has literally killed two people with his own hands and his promiscuous wife just keep trucking.
They had to work to make him worse. And I'm not sure he's worse.
Yeah okay.

I could totally see her killing him though. She was practically pulling for him to die when he was shot so she could use Blythe as a puppet and make it onto his ticket.

I'm on ep 5. This show is so far off the rails in terms of being realistic. How is Claire even eligible to run for office in Texas if she lived in SC with Frank?
I am enjoying the season so far.

In the future feel free to share details when correcting something that's incorrect.. It's more useful for the board.

Calm the frack down. That is not how THE TV SERIES ended. Happy Francis.

It takes seconds if you're already familiar with the subject, it's informative to the rest of the board, and it comes across as less priggish than a curt "that's not how it happened."
Just trying to teach you some social skills, dude.

Just finished
Way better than last season. The American accent of the guy who play Conway bothered the shite out of me. I don't know if it's because his accent bothered me in The Killing also or what.

Way better than last season.
quote:He's Swedish or Danish, and they typically do pretty well with American-accented English. But it's still not going to be flawlessly native. I think the entire haughty air about the guy just rubbed me (and everyone else) the wrong way. His deep pretentious voice was just a part of it.

quote:Everyone is clueless about the most obvious shite they're up to, then they magically get wind of it/figure it out and act as though they've had enough, then they randomly just give in instead of blowing shite up.
On episode 9, unbelievable how they make Durant so clueless on the Underwood's VP backdoor. How obvious was that
Okay I'm done complaining. I'll devote another weekend to it next March. It's weak-sauce now, though.

It's still better than 95% of other television dramas.
Was it long winded and story scattered? Yes, but still a high quality series.
At the end of the day, I was entertained and the show kept my interest throughout.

Aw man, they argue? Been watching and waiting to see him appear. I just love that friendship and conversations between the two
