I wonder if the fat chick googled herself and found SlowFlo's hate thread?

Really? I even watched it and didn't notice it. I'll have to re-watch just for that.

Adam needs his own show. Hannah sucks so bad, Shoshanna sucks a little less. Marnie is carrying the girls side of it. Ray is alright, but Adam is in a league of his own. He makes the show watchable.

Shoshanna is easily the best of the girls. Marnie is probably the worst IMO.

Adam was gold this week, though it was definitely one of the strongest episodes of the season overall to me.

you know it's funny that dunhman beleives men are chauvinists and that's why she keeps making men uncomfortable by getting naked, while never allowing marnie to get naked...but marnie, as "the hot chick," devolves into a rambling/crazy mess (which is quite cliched for a "hot girl" who offers nothing outside of her looks in chauvinist works) when her boyfriend is financially successful

also, did i miss something in season 1 about hannah having debilitating OCD, or did they just throw that in "cause"?

you realize you are playing into exactly what the show is trying to do

dunham gets naked and has awkward sex because people are chubby and have awkward sex but no one ever shows that on tv. if it makes you feel awkward seeing her naked, you're supposed to wonder why it does that.

and marnie will never, ever get naked BECAUSE HER DAD IS NBC CORPORATE ICON BRIAN WILLIAMS

i wish you twits would realize that

i'm way over that. it's a tool of identification, and not a statement, anymore

it's basically like when a sitcom has a minor character become popular and they build the show around that character (like urkel-effect, also seen well with sheldon in BBT)

the point was already made. doing it over and over and over again was cliche a long time ago

quote:

and marnie will never, ever get naked BECAUSE HER DAD IS NBC CORPORATE ICON BRIAN WILLIAMS

why does this matter? they showed her getting off in a bathroom once, which is a lot worse than showing tits

but my point still remains. for how anti-chauvinist dunham is trying to make this show, she certainly had no problem falling in line with writing marnie's character in a completely chauvinistic way

the funniest part was how to try to balance it out they just create a debilitating disorder for hannah out of thin air

though it was never mentioned in season 1, it didn't bother me that it was "out of the blue' because given her general nervousness and whatnot. I bought into the idea that she had been in control for a long time and the stress of the book deadline could be a trigger for her or something.

Also Dunham has OCD so I figured they'd address is eventually.

hannah is based off dunham and i think dunham struggled with OCD IRL so its not really out of nowhere

and i just cant help you if you dont see why her dad being uber corporate and famous means she wont get naked. she doesnt seem like the "frick you dad, i hate you so im getting naked to spite you" type

she actually seems kinda awesome IRL

i'm speaking in terms of the show

plenty of actresses have fathers who are much bigger media players and they've gotten naked before

this is supposed to be art. she's not a stripper irl or anything

What about this a chauvinist plot?

hot girls offer nothing except looks. when they're not "being hot," they unravel into crazy

Potential for that is there, but IMO its more about her being clueless as to who she is and grasping at the idea of who she thinks she should be. seeds of this were planted in season one.

I haven't seen this weeks episode, but I'm here to support SFP and the notion that this show sucks.

I just pray 20 years from now my hypothetical children don't assume that this is what I was like in my 20s

Different strokes. I know many, many 20-somethings who really enjoy the show. I don't think the show is "great" per se but it does have many great qualities, including consistently witty/creative dialogue, awkward social situations, etc.

It's a good show. The hate for it is ooc and stems primarily from people being annoyed with seeing Dunham's naked body.
