HBO also doesn't have another show to keep people subscribed and the money flowing in. They will want to get it out as soon as they can.

Westworld bro.

I'll use my Maggie prophesy to let you know you are wrong. There will be a massive amount of CGI and other filming work that has to be done in the winter months so even doing reshoots is going to be a problem. They aren't going to rush their golden egg

Westworld is good but you can in no way compare it's popularity to that of game of thrones.

There is nothing that suggests there will be more post production needed than this past season.

D&D want to get this behind them and move on. Which is understandable for sure.

Anywho I could very well be wrong but guess we will find out in a few months.

I mean is TWD that much competition for GOT? It's a terrible show that I was once a big fan of.

Look at the ratings. There's definitely some overlap in fan bases.

That said, I think the final season of game of thrones would win in the ratings. It's football they won't want to compete with.

I'm not, but that's clearly the show they have lined up to replace GOTs. They have given them the resources and have gotten the results they wanted out of that first season and the second season would be a good placeholder for GOT.

Except that 80 percent of the cast will be CGI characters in massive sets that have to be done in the winter. Nothing different at all. It's not a coincidence that each season for the most part has taken longer to make than the previous.

They would crush TWD but why even try to have it on at the same time when you can push it a few months forward and have the entire world talking about you and only you during your final season

That's kind of taking under the assumption that the white walker battle will be the majority of the season. I think it is 3 episodes tops.

All the seasons have taken about the same amount of time to produce. This last season started production much later than the previous 6.

I do know one thing I'm going to enjoy these final 2 episodes as much as I can.

why not? You think they'll lose viewers because NFL is on? No. People have been watching this shite for years now and nothing will keep them from continuing IMO. I for one don't GAF about NFL sunday night.

Plus Fat Man is a huge Giants fan and I doubt he writes at all during football season.

Earliest would be spring of 2019

Does it really matter with a revenue stream that doesn't depend on "live viewers" for advertising?

I also think that HBO has done very well in grasping the changes in viewership with HBO Go and on demand services - so they aren't as worried about live viewership.

They will lose "live" viewers, me for one. I will simply watch the replay or the HBO on demand after its over. But I don't think that matters from their perspective.

Option 4
Release each episode in theaters for 2 weeks
Go ahead switch the style up
And if they hate then let em hate and watch the money pile up.
