These are so boring (to me) compared to the original series. We're three movies in and we're still at the very start of the ape culture.

In the original trilogy, we'd already introduced the ape culture, sent two spaceships into the future and one into the past, battled underground mutants, and brought Zira and Cornelius back in time to jump-start the intelligent ape race.

I have enjoyed the reboot. I'm not going to the theater to watch them, but I enjoy them on Netflix.

Very different from the originals, but I don't think today's audience wants what was in the originals.

Better than the Tim Burton crap, for sure.

Are they just trying to get the series to where the original Planet of the Apes takes over (Heston version)? I know they referenced the Taylor mission in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Hopefully, they will explain how the east coast of the USA turned into a complete desert with canyons that appear to have been cut through tens of thousands of years of erosion.

So it seems some of the apes have joined the humans to fight Caesar and his ape army. I wonder why they defected.

I liked the first one and I thought the second one was one of the best movies in 2014. I'm excited for this and if it's good, it will only increase my excitement for the future of Batman.

The apes on the human side have "donkey" spray painted on their back. What do you think that means?

Maybe it's a way to tell them apart from the apes on Caesar's side? I don't know what exactly it would mean though.

Maybe lower on their backs it says "Kong"

The Statue of Liberty was moved to the desert, they thought it really complimented the desert.

Just found this online about the "donkeys" The quote is from Matt Reeves in an interview with Empire **Very slight spoilers**

Turns out I was half right about Donkey Kong

quote:

These apes give the humans a bit of an advantage in understanding how the apes might fight, and they also carry the humans' equipment, lke pack mules. They become known as Donkeys, after Donkey Kong. The humans have all sorts of terrible names for them."
