I agree, this is the first of the four classics from the 90s.

A lot of 90's kids and their kids will go see this.

Checking in

Outside of Lion King its probably the Disney movie I watched most as a kid.

That threw me off because Little Mermaid was '89, but close enough. I had to go back a while before that to find a Disney film that I really liked.

My bad I thought it was 90 that Mermaid came out. I was only eight then, I liked Oliver in Company as a kid but it didn't hold up well.

I think Rescuers Down Under came out between Mermaid and Lion King, but it was made by a studio other than the main Disney Animation. I think it bombed too.

Doesn't top Angela Lansbury. GOAT.

This is going to be a good movie.

Arent they making a sword and the stone live action remake??

Sword and the stone, Lion king, Jungle book, Beauty and the Beast and Great Mouse Detective were my favorites growing up. Fox and the Hound and the Rescuers were in there too

Waiting for the live action remake of Heavy Metal. That was a Disney property, wasn't it?

Should have been a Thanksgiving/Christmas movie and it would have cleaned up at the box office, probably will still make a mint with no March competition.

2 words: Star Wars.

Honestly, they should have flipped them.

Star Wars was going to make a ton regardless of where it is. Good family movies at Christmas for everyone, young and old, are beyond valuable.

I actually think the March date hurts this one just ever so slightly.

I would argue the other way. Star Wars is stronger during Christmas because you will always get the hardcore fans. But this also brings in all the casual fans that don't have other stuff to do. You won't get as much of that market in March. But Beauty and the Beast? Everyone will want to see that. You don't need the holiday break to bring in casual fans. This is a sacred cow of Disney that despite being a princess movie, is a huge hit even with boys.

I think they released this now because they aren't worried about needing to draw in casual fans like they do with Star Wars.

March is quickly becoming a summer month for the Hollywood box office. The Hunger Games was a March release in 2012 and made over $400 million domestic. Batman v. Superman did similar numbers last year. If this film is well-received with critics, it's going to make $1 billion worldwide.

The credit them (and probably the single release) is Ariana Grande and John Legend. Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) will sing the in movie song, I'm sure.

I believe she is supposed to be performing an "original" song for the new movie. The run time on this movie is 123 minutes, so there is going to be some added story, obviously.

I can't believe they let that anti-American harlot have the honor of singing one of my GOAT Disney songs for the soundtrack. SMH.

I would've thought Disney could do better than a no talent like Ariana Grande to sing the pop version of the title song.

Isn't there some concern over the quality of the singing in this, particularly Emma Watson's voice being auto tuned?

If there is concern over the singing I'm glad they are using autotune. Some of the singing in Les Miserables could have used it (*cough* Russell Crowe *cough*).
