If they were to somehow successfully incorporate FF and X-Men into the MCU over the next few years, and have an Endgame type movie with those joining up with the new Avengers, it would make a trillion dollars.

It just hit me that Disney now owns the Avatar series. Might be why we haven’t heard about anymore Star Wars movies.

I feel like Avatar was a unique situation of hype that couldn't be replicated and that Avatar's sequel could flop (relative to the original and possible expectations). No?

I just feel like very few people today look at Avatar and go "oh yeah, it made total sense why that movie set records."

Little bitches who think they're grown men jump in threads about comic book movies and try and act superior.

Eh, real grown men know there is a time and place for the Notebook, a time and place for John Wick, a time and place for 12 Years a Slave and a time and place for Infinity War.

All of those films can be equally impactful for a variety of reasons.

Definitely. Maybe only one of those should be discussed in regards to Oscars.

Only to elitists, and it really depends on what oscar you are talking about.

There's a reason we still watch and love Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, regardless of how bad the acting, set and production design, editing, and script were. Movies can have impacts beyond the "excellence" of the parts of the film.

As a film that comes from comic books, Infinity War is an outstanding representation of page to screen. It's an exceptional achievement.

Because it's one of the funniest comedies ever made?

All of the things you mentioned in Holy Grail are great. Jeremy Renner acting tough is often bad acting. Nothing in Holy Grail is bad acting.

And the Oscars are inherently elitist and pretentious. I am no fan of them. An elitist group sought to reward Black Panther, a movie that was perceived as culturally important, even if it was a regular Marvel movie. End Game will make money, but it is the culmination of an ongoing phenomenon; nothing new.

The Notebook, Holy Grail, and John Wick are great movies in genres historically ignored by the Academy. Wanting them to get nominations is futile.

John Wick 2 obviously deserved a few Oscars: Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Costume Design. You could maybe talk me into more.
