IW finished at 678, domestically. Assuming Endgame is well received, if we give it a 10% bump, it'll finish at about $745 mil. A 20% bump, about $813 mil. This shows you just how incredible The Force Awakens domestic total is.

Yeah Pikachu is going to topple Endgame when it comes out especially in Japan. I think people are actually underestimating it. Pokemon is a massive brand and will bring in not just kids but millennials who grew up with the OG series and games

Yeah, I was surprised to see that even the sleepy suburban AMC I go to will be showing it all night. Looks like they'll be able to close for maybe 2 hours to clean up and change shifts.
I've never looked for tickets on opening days (until now) so I guess I don't really know how unusual that is for big openers. But I think it's mostly sold out all day and night.

Two things...
1) if it’s at least as good as IW, it should get the Best Picture nomination IW was denied.
2) Just rewatched The Russo’s first MCU pic, Winter Solider, it’s hard to believe there were viewers that thought DFOP was a better film when it’s clearly on a lower level.

I personally have purchased 3 sets of tickets to go with different friends who couldn't make it opening night. First time in my life that I've done anything like that.

I'm considering purchasing another set later in the week or the following weekend because I assume I want to see it again and I know it will be full every day for like 14 days.

That's why I bought them. I had the time available and I know I was going to want to see it again quickly. 2 sets for standard viewing and one for IMAX. I didn't even think twice about it really. I'd like to have a theater show A:IW and A:Endgame back to back at some point.

I'm going to be out of town on opening Thursday and i know i'll have to work late, just don't know how late, so i bought a ticket for a 730 showing and a 930 showing on that thursday, then i bought 4 tickets on Sunday morning to go with the family. Don't care that i'll be paying and not going to one of those shows.
Have to see it first by myself b/c i know i'll have to make at least 3 bathroom breaks with the kids.

Saw the trailer for Pikachu before Shazam, and it actually looks like a good movie.
