The long-awaited “Avengers: Endgame” is just 17 days away, and it’s already smashing box-office records left and right.

Presale tickets went on sale last Tuesday and exceeded first-hour and first-day records on both Atom Tickets and Fandango.

A week later, “Endgame” has done something even more impressive. In its first week, the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sold nearly twice as many tickets on Atom Tickets as “Aquaman,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Captain Marvel” combined.

Guys I think this movie might be big

It's benefiting from that Captain Marvel bump.

It’s going to get at least $275 million domestically opening weekend. $800 WW. I’ll say somewhere around $290 million domestically opening weekend five or take $5 million.

It won’t open that high worldwide. $800 million itself will be insane because the current record was set by IW and that was $675 million or so.

Could make a driving play for 3 billion if this movie is absolutely crazy good, like it's literally a perfect movie. Might not make it but it could get close.

It won’t get 3 billion. No scenario for it. $2.5 billion is the high end for it.

Real talk: The Lion King will be Disney’s second highest grosser of the year.

There are places near me showing the movie at 1 am. Which means you would get out of the theater at 4 am. And it's nearly full

Apparently it's already sold millions of tickets and to get a presecptive of how insane that is let me take a comment from /r/boxoffice

quote:

Just to put tickets in the millions into perspective, infinity wars Thursday of release it “only” sold about 200 thousand tickets. And on infinity wars first day it sold less than 50 k tickets. Box office theory forums was predicting 300-400 thousand, so if endgame truly did sell 1 million + tickets on fandango alone in 24 hours that’s insane. That’s honestly the most insane statistic Endgame has demolished so far. TFA previews of 57 million might actually go down. I remember just 1 month ago when that number still seemed unbreakable

Yeah it won’t sniff $3 billion. I def think it topples Titanic, though world wide. I think it beats out Black Panther on domestic total too, around $710-715M for domestic.

Looking at the AMC closest to me: 2:45 AM start time for a 3 hour 2 minute movie.

Then again, only 18 seat unavailable atm. I'm going to have to remember to check to see if it fills up.

Several theaters near me have showings on Friday and Saturday at 9/9:30 am. One has them at 8:45 am.

One theater (12 screens I believe) has a showing starting every 15 minutes starting at 6 pm lol.

The fan event showing i’m in is sold out. I have never been in a movie showing that has been sold out.

It will absolutely beat Black Panther. It will probably do so in 19-20 days.

It has a shot at 900 mil because China opens at the same time as everyone else. Ticket sales are thru the roof in China.

Agreed. People need to stop with that nonsense. It won't even beat Avatars total.

19-20 days would be waaaaaay fast. I agree that it will make more, but 700 million domestic is a rare number. Give it more than a month.

But we all know after the disaster of CM that Marvel movies don't have legs. They're cripples, or Seth Green in Can't Hardly Wait.
