Or you could just skip the popcorn and drinks to prevent bathroom breaks and then eat after the movie.

So you have a 7 and 5 year old?
First off, skipping the popcorn is impossible, and if you have popcorn, you need a drink.

We are going see a 930am movie. my 5 year old could wake up, pee, not drink anything, pee before the movie starts, not drink anything, and still have to go to the bathroom at a minimum 2 times during this 3 hour movie.
my 7 year old will hold it with all his might b/c he doesn't want to miss a second.

I have a 6 year old and one soon to be 8. Same thing with me. I'm contemplating bringing a water bottle in for them to pee in like we do on road trips.

Would you mind breaking it down for me? How exactly would this happen?

Repeat viewings and Imax ticket prices are the main 2 reasons I see. I know a guy that is going to go see the movie on the Thursday night showing by himself, Friday with his wife, Saturday with his kids, and Sunday with his friends.

I also believe people are under estimating China. I think this movie will be in the range of 600-850 million over there.

Just a wild arse gut feeling by a random internet poster

IW made 2 bil. I'm trying to understand where the additional 1.3 billion will come from. Is there some new markets we're not aware of?

I think its gonna get 15-40% bumps from the same markets. I just don't remember there being the same amount of hype for Infinity War as there is End Game.

Still doesn't get it to 3 billion. Some of you need to take your homer glasses off. It's going to be huge but has no shot at 3 billion.

This is the last movie for some of these characters, that's going to bring people out more than usual.

Look at the Wolverine franchise...Logan with its R rating made $200 million more than The Wolverine bc people knew the run was over. That's a nice jump. Apply that to Endgame and it's easy to see this one hitting $2.5 billion. I think it'll get to $3 billion.

Domestic - Let's say a 15% increase from IW, gives it 780 million.

International - around 1.5 billion. WW total of 2.3 billion.

I'll definitely be doing that closer to the opening. I like doing a box office watch thread for big films. Following box office trends is a fun hobby of mine.

I wish people were able to buy stock in movies and treat it like the stock market

The market drop after 9-11 was right as Marvel had just bounced back with the release of X-Men. Post 9-11 and pre-Spider-Man film you could buy shares for less than a buck and a half. The stock rose as more Spider-Man and X-Men films came out and hit $35+ after Iron Man. The Disney buy-out was at $54 a share.

If you'd bought $27k in stock at the 2001 price you'd have received a check from Disney for a million bucks in 2009.

Saw the trailer for Pikachu before Shazam, and it actually looks like a good movie.

I just wish they had gone with the online fan favorite choice of Danny DeVito as Pikachu over Ryan Reynolds.

mil. This shows you just how incredible The Force Awakens domestic total is.

I’ll never forget, almost two months after release, I go watch it again for the third time on a Thursday afternoon and it’s still pretty much full. Two months in. That’s just crazy.

I don’t even know what movie could touch $3billion. I don’t even think the Avatar sequel could touch that
