It's guaranteed a $120+ million opening and will more than likely dethrone Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million) with the best March opening weekend in box office history. If reviews are good it could push for $200 million in its opening weekend IMO.

I cannot fathom the possibility of it not being great.

I never actually looked at the entire cast.

Ewan McGregor - Stanley Tucci - Emma Thompson - Ian McKellen - Kevin Kline.

Wow. and Luke Evans is gonna kill it.

And that doesn't even include international numbers. This should be the type of story that should transcend cultures. Granted it's a musical which can hurt it abroad since it's hard to understand musical context in foreign languages, but it is such a timeless tale that I think it should do just fine.

Age I guess. Would be kind of weird watching a 48 year old chase after a girl in her mid 20's

I didn't realize he was gay. Crazy that he's playing such a misogynistic character.

One could even argue it's a tale as old as time

Should be an amazing film. The cast and cinematography look fantastic. If they do as well of a job as they did with Jungle Book, it should be a record breaker.

being that it is a Disney musical, most of the songs have already been translated into the 20 languages they re0do their cartoons in.

Yeah, it has that going for it. There are supposedly more musical numbers as well.

It's also 45 minutes longer than the original. That's adding more than half to the original's screentime. I just wonder what they're going to do with that. Hopefully they show off more Gaston in the middle than the original did.

I'm guessing adding songs from the play.

They said they're original, so I don't think so. One is supposed to be by the servants remembering how the castle was before the curse, and the other has the Beast singing. Hopefully the last has something to do with Gaston, like when he's recruiting the Asylum guy to his side or maybe proposing to Belle.

Was "Human Again" in the movie? that's the one from the musical where the furniture reminisces about being human.

Beast's songs were "How long can this go on" and "If I can't love her"

Good songs, don't think they were in the movie.
