Can anyone tell me if the show is better after season one. I've seen the first couple episodes and I thought they were horribly cheesy and of really low production value. But people seem to love it, so I want to see if it's worth the investment

You could be like most of the newer fans and just start with Matt Smith episodes when Moffat started running the show, then once you start to appreciate everything go back and watch the greatness of the 10th Doctor (although Capaldi has made a very strong case to become my favorite Doctor)

Start with blink. I always recommend that.

It's a cheesy show, you know that based on how many races look very similar to humans. Honestly, I would only recommend to people who really enjoy any of the Star Trek series. If you want to invest yourself in the series, start at Season Two or Five. For individual episode viewing, you can't go wrong with Blink as a thrill ride. I started with Human Nature/The Family of Blood, and I'd recommend it right after as it gives better insight into the Doctor's character despite him being almost entirely out of it.

So I'm confused on the whole "There's no such thing as a Dalek Hybrid", we saw a Human-Dalek hybrid in Evolution of the Daleks.

And the Daleks killed it, which is the point the Doctor was making.

(big) SPOILERS

- A bit of a weird one

- Bit of a waste of Gallifrey

- Guitar Clara theme ( ) will show up at my reception

- I both like and hate the rewriting of Clara's ending. It's great that they didn't 'Donna' Clara (and she still gets the good death in Face the Raven, so, IMO, that scene's not meaningless), but I didn't want the Doctor to forget her. frick.

- The Hybrid thing is stupid. This season would have been just fine with all of that garbage removed

- The best scene was the Doctor's conversation with Clara while he's fooling around with the trap door

- I enjoyed the Amy and Rory joke (and, to be honest, all of the jokes worked)

- I don't like the new screwdriver.

- I loved all the little references (9's theme, Bad Wolf theme, the first TARDIS console, the numerous Douglas Adams things)

- It must be said: Murray Gold has been fricking fantastic this season

- How did Ashildr/Me/Mayor get to Gallifrey?

- There is something seriously wrong if Capaldi and Coleman don't win Emmys for this season

Re-watching Heaven Sent before the BBC-A telecast. Episode sums up the Season; It's a terrible season/episode for new watchers of Doctor Who, but it's a great episode/season for fans of the series.

Agree with everything you said... ESPECIALLY the Hybrid bit. A murky subplot that stayed out of context with everything else and brought absolutely nothing to the table.

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

I KNEW they wouldn't let Clara go down with the Raven. The fact that she volunteers to sacrifice herself a couple more times in this episode only adds to the gravitas of her death 2 episodes back.

Kind of a nice little detail that Me will have another immortal to kick around with to keep her from going down a bad path mentally (just like the Doctor would without a companion).

CLARA HAS HER OWN TARDIS!!!! The door is SOOOOOOOOOO open for a cameo somewhere down the line.

Time is fractured and hasn't started healing like it "always" has done prior. Wonder what the long long-term effects will be?

END SPOILRERS

I was so disappointed with this season.

Steven Moffat trying to pull off a season long story arc = A Les Miles offense

Peter Capaldi = Leonard Fournette

This has been the best season of the reboot.

Best season old or new probably.

Spoilers:

Just finished the finale and not sure yet how I feel. I was really afraid they were going to Donnafy Clara. But I'm happy for her. She got the ending Donna deserved, which she also deserved. But are Clara and Me good for each other, and how reckless will an immortal Clara in a Tardis be now without the doctor?

I wondered why the doctor didn't just pick up a spare Clara and continue. They're littered all over time and space I think.

Also, did the impossible astronaut take place inside Clara's Tardis?

Well that's just silly. This is the best season so far and most of the reboot's best episodes were done by Moffat.

Although they all look like her, they've only got bits of her personality. To continue on the weird connections with my fiancee: my fiancee's an identical twin. They've got some personality traits in common, but they're very different people. The Doctor going off with a new fracture-Clara would be like me going off with my fiancee's sister.

Moffat has done a lot of good episodes. But he's better off writing two episodes a year than running things.

The third season and the fifth season were way better than this year. Shoot, last season may have been better.

I'm an old school fan, going back to the early 80s.

I just watched it. Damn if I didn't well up multiple times at the prospect of Clara living...and then I had a flood of emotions at the end in the diner.

I don't know if I'll ever enjoy another companion as much as I did Clara Oswald.

Capaldi is the king of of these moving speeches.

Also I would love to hear a full version of "Clara's Song", that song gives me chills

SPOILERS!!!

Laugh at everything because it's always funny.
Never be cruel.
And never be cowardly.
And if you ever are

Watched it again and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the ending they gave Clara was actually fitting. She gets to have further adventures of her own in her own Tardis for awhile before eventually returning to face the Raven.

I already said this is the best season of Who so far, in large part due to the 3 part ending each being so excellent and building off each other. My only complaint of face the Raven at the time was that the death seemed abrupt without time for goodbyes. Obviously that was not the case by the end of last episode.

No thoughts on the Cristmas special? I thought it was great. Capaldi is the man. Last River appearance? If so, they wrapped up her story very well IMO.
