It's good.

But 2 hours and 45 minutes long. So get comfortable.

Best movie of the year imo. NOw if you just viewed it one time....then you might think its just very good. However, i had *cough* repeated viewings so it got better each time imo. The movie is very layered.

sidenote: Its disappointing that Tarantino wont release the 3hr 15 version yet.

In fact there is almost 5 hours (total) of footage that will take years for us to see...

Great film, although I actually think they edited out too much from the script.

I'm still holding out hope for an extended cut version, such as the Scotty Harmony scenes, ponys, Stephen's torture of Django w/ the hot poker, etc.

I enjoyed it.

I thought Inglorious Basterds was better, but that's just me.

Definitely worth watching for sure.

the Scotty Harmony scenes,

Sad thing is......They never got around to shooting the Scotty Harmony scenes

Sasha Baron Cohen had the role. However, because of scheduling he had to make a decision. He decided to film Les Miserables instead. So QT cut the part out completely. Which is sad. Because if they had just cut the movie up into two films like Harvey Weinstein wanted it could have got done. Imagine the end of the 1st film being..

*script spoiler*
Scotty losing Broomhilda in a card game. Then getting gunned down in a duel with Candie......Candie chases her out of her hotel room room till she falls into the mud. THen looks up to see Leo DiCaprio say..."WELCOME TO CANDYLAND!"
It would have rivaled the ending of Kill Bill 1 imo (obviously or at least imo Django was a better film...but if it were split it two that could have been an awesome ending to the 1st volume.

Sam Jackson was actually pissed some of his scenes got cut. Said Stephen is even more evil than they showed
. Plus supposedly Django/Stephen got in a fight in the house which amplified his suspicions of DJango and why he wanted to get him...

Lets not forget there is even more about the Brittle Brothers as well.

*sigh*

I hear the comic book has everything in it though.

Django is a badass movie. It's a must-see, especially if you're a QT fan.

Definitely a QT fan, and every one of his movie's are a must see for me. I can't wait to watch it.

I don't mind films that have long run times, I just prefer to watch them at home. Especially if it's a movie I am really excited about, like Django.

I also thought that Jonah Hill was going to take the role of Scotty when Sacha couldn't do it, but in the end they just gave him a smaller role as Baghead #2 or whatever.

It's also funny how people say the ending sucked, when in actuality, that wasn't the original ending. Tarantino changed his mind and went back to his trailer and wrote up a new ending, which was the one seen in theaters.

I really don't care for the VERY end, with the horse prance, etc. Just seemed corny and unnecessary.

Also would have liked to see the scene where Django named his horse Tony, etc. I read the original screenplay and so many great scenes were left out. Kinda makes we wish that it would have been released in 2 volumes.
