It was better than being a nuclear wasteland.
At the end of Batman Begins, Bruce's actions lead to more criminals being on the street.
His valiant attempt at falling on his sword and taking the rap for Dent's death may have led to no street crime for nearly a decade, but it also provided Bane and Talia with the decade window that it would have taken to rig the entire city for isolation. Certainly one night of being Batman during that eight year span, Bruce would have discovered a small army forming underneath the city.
A Nuclear blast just off the coast of Gotham City, while not physically destroying the city, will most likely mean that Gotham's drinking water and surrounding coast will be contaminated for decades.
Gotham City will in all likely hood will never recover from these events in the real world, but hey, he got a statue.

I think youve got your facts all kind of backwards here
How so? Didn't he "hang up his cape and cowl" after the events in The Dark Knight? Isn't Wayne Manor the new home for orphaned boys?

tDKR would have been a better movie if Bruce had died in the end.

Loved it. I recognize the flaws, but didn't really bother me. Watch it every time I see it on HBO, which is a lot lately.

I thought Wayner Manor was sold to pay off debts and the balance went to Alfred. The remaining Wante properties went to the children's homes.

They showed a bus of kids unloading at Wayne Manor. I think Alfred got the remaining $$ after the rest of assets were sold.

One of the most brutal fights I've seen in movies. All without using blood and gore. He literally beat him to near death.

False. It was a pure fusion weapon. There is no fallout. That's why it was the ideal weapon of the league. The city could be rebuilt without waiting on radioactive decay.

I do like the film. The first 3/4 of it was great, but it sort of spiraled out from there. I wish that the Talia reveal was earlier in the film and that Cotillard was allowed to flex in that role. They would have had to move some things around but the last half may have had a bit more punch with some psycho bitch counterbalancing Bane as the villains.

only the comic book dorks seem to have problems with it

This was my biggest problem with TDKR.
If you're going to recycle the LoS, fine. At least make it interesting. Don't have an al Ghul masquerading as another character for almost the entirety of the movie, AGAIN.

I've disliked it more and more everytime I've watched it
Other than the first fight, which IMO was one of the most realistic fights in film
Just the entire plot for me blew. No need for details on that, just a disappointment for me

That was pure shite compared to the first 2 with Bale.
Pure shite is a bit much.

Did anyone really enjoy it?
It has gaping plot holes and a weak story. But Tom Hardy's Bane was fantastic.
I just hated how his character was taken out.

The cave had always been there. It's a natural part of planet earth.

Agreed - one of the most subtly awesome u/n's on this dump.

Marion Cotillard is usually great but she was abysmal in this film. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she accepted the role and started filming just a couple of weeks after giving birth, but she was just awful.
And I liked the film as a whole.

Wrong. Batman Begins was shite. The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises were both amazing.
The only complaint I have about TDKR is you can't understand Bane at times.
