I feel like Wesley had to die to help push Fisk towards becoming the Kingpin.

I can definitely see that. No character other than his wife would have had that impact. And she holds a bigger role going forward.

ETA: I wonder if next season we'll get more of the story about how Kingpin amassed his power and wealth.

I was thinking they should've made him a more modern reporter. But I don't know anything about his comic book profile

It's all about where he works, imo. If he was writing for the New York Times instead of the Bulletin, I'm not sure you'd see it that way, or if he wrote for his actual paper-The Daily Bugle(which couldn't happened until January).

Finished the season, was really good. The big reveal had a lot more cheese to it than the rest of the series. Can't wait to see where they go with some of these sci fi plot lines they hint at.

I just finished the first season and really enjoyed it, but I have never read any comics... What kind of sic fi plot lines did they hint at?

The mark on the heroin = Steel Serpent, an Iron Fist villain

It's strongly hinted that Madame Gao is "Crane Mother"

So why do they never show Stark Tower in any of those shots where they show the city skyline? I realize these wide shots are few and far between, but it should be there in at least one...

Stupid thing to notice I know.

Other side of the island?

They don't show Oscorp either.

So... Watched the first episode and enjoyed.

I feel nerdy asking.... But I noticed they talked about death reigning from the skies in NY. I'm assuming this lines up in MCU with Avengers?

Finished the first season yesterday. The show certainly isn't scared to kill off major characters. Thoroughly enjoyed it, though. Now have to wait a whole year for the next season.

I always had a feeling that Wesley was going to be the real Kingpin. He was much smarter, calculating, and in control than Fisk and positioned himself in key meetings so he could be in the loop. I wished that Fisk was going to be sort of the figure like 'The Mandarin' in Iron Man 3 and the real Kingpin was still one step ahead...but that all changed pretty quickly.

Edit: Also add some boobs since it's on Netflix.

Good question, probably just an oversight. Watched Avengers over the weekend, Stark Tower is located within a block or three from the Empire State Building (and about as tall) so in any wide shot it should be visible if you can see ESB.

Finished the series yesterday. Solid for a first season, I hope for more meaty stories next season though. As Urich is also a character in the Spiderman and (rarely) Avengers circles, I was really shocked they killed him off. My guess is they'll create another news-type character if they need one.

All I can say about Karen is that every time I see her is still think "Jessica Hamby"

One episode to go for me, but I have to say that the Nelson v. Murdock episode was spectacular. Really, just an intense episode in which Foggy shows off precisely how big of a betrayal this whole thing is. He changed his life, quit his job and everything, all because he trusted Matt. And Matt was lying to him from day one. I liked that they played it as a real human moment. Matt did completely betray Foggy's trust.

That isnt going to happen with a mainstream Disney/Marvel property any time soon.

Also, if Deborah Ann Woll didn't get naked in True Blood there is no way in hell that she would do it for Daredevil so I don't know why anyone thought it might even be a possibility.

If the rumors are true about the future crossovers with the movies then I'm really curious how they pull that off

Do you completely change course of the direction of the Avenger movies to fit the new crew, or do you do the reverse? Both could end badly

I broke out a couple of Iron Fist trade paperbacks yesterday to do some re-reading. I'm wondering if we ever see Iron Fist wearing the Daredevil costume?

I can't believe they got Gomer Pyle to play Kingpin.
