I agree. Larry David is the genius here. Curb is a better comedy but Seinfeld gets the nod because it's old and fulfills that nostalgia factor.

Curb is GOAT comedy series IMO. I recently rewatched Curb beginning to end, most I've ever laughed at a TV show.

Seinfeld's first few seasons are weak. Curb is banging from the beginning.

Larry David cut his teeth on Seinfeld and feasted on Curb.

False.

Season One only has 5 episodes so that is probably the weakest season by default. However, Season Two has solid episodes such as the classic "The Chinese Restaurant" as well as "The Jacket." Another one of my favorite episodes from that season is "The Busboy."

Season Three has "The Library" (Mr. Bookman!) and "The Parking Garage." You also have "The Pez Dispenser" as well as the classic two-part episode, "The Boyfriend" which mocks the conspiracy theories surrounding the JFK assassination ("A second spitter!").

Season Four is widely regarded as among the greatest single seasons for a TV show in the history of television. So I don't see where you are getting this idea that the first few seasons of Seinfeld are weak.

As much as I love Seinfeld, this is a conversation that can be had. It is not by any means a ludicrous assertion.

Having some solid episodes(most of those you listed are lackluster in comparison to later Seinfeld) is hardly a rousing endorsement for those seasons' greatness.

And that's when the series gets great.

I absolutely LOVE both shows, but imo Seinfeld > Curb.

I could watch Seinfeld 24 hours/day because the episodes are timeless and the characters are all amazing. With Curb, as great as it is, it's the same old thing in every episode and I can't binge more than 2-3 at a time then I have to leave the show alone for a few days.

First 10 min: Larry finds himself in a situation
Next 10 min: Larry totally screws up the situation
Last 10 min: Larry pays price for screwing up situation

Seinfeld is my #1 and Curb is my #2 in terms of comedy. I understand why people would enjoy Curb more, but I'd like to point out that Curb being on HBO gives it a pretty big advantage in terms of content and scheduling.

Yes and after watching Curb you can see that Larry David was the real talent behind Seinfeld.

Curb is a wild show, I like how painfully awkward Larry can be at times, I almost cringe watching him.

Kinda agree with you there. Also feel like Larry's Seinfeld experiences helped enhance curb
